I don't see Cedar Point putting in another launched coaster. Not with the downtime problems they have had with Dragster and Wicked Twister. I think we'll see a conventional lift.
And I don't disagree with free ideas. Just the ideas with no rational basis in reality.

Why not have both a launch and a lifthill...all in the same ride...That's definitely different
There is nothing quite like becoming a human windshield on Millennium Force
I thought about that, and yes it would be different, but how would it work, would the launch be first and then lift hill, or lift hill then launch? Nonetheless, still a neat idea.

Hasnt that been done before? Lift at the begining of the ride, launch somewhere during the course of the ride?

Volcano has two launches (and WT technically has 5). The only way this concept would work and not suck would be with LIMs. I guess if the launch was first you could do hydraulic, but I'd rather have the ride work more than 60% of the time.

Its actually plausible, and would be an interesting concept. It'd be like when you hit the booster patches in R/C Pro Am.

What's scary is that I would imagine half the kids on here have no idea what we're talking about.

I'm sure you're right. Sadly, that means they'd surely not know anything about Pole Position.

Your probably right about that, and it would make for a very interesting ride design.

In respect to the lift hill and launch

An R/C Pro Am ride would be sweet.
And throughout the rides we can collect C-E-D-A-R-P-O-I-N-T letters and when we grab them all the ride will get different trains.
Yeah, that game is* (was) sweet!
*It should be noted that the wife and I still have and play a working Nintendo with quite a few games including the best game of all time, Contra.

Contra was sweet, but not as good as Guerilla Wars. Which when I first rented it, my mom thought it was supposed to be a game where two giant apes fight each other.
It'd be even better if you entered the train with 4 engine pieces (collected over a series of rides) that your coaster would go faster that ride.

Sorry for the OT, but I have two working NES, an Intellevision somewhere and got rid of my Genesis once I heard the Nintendo Wii was going to have mosto f the Sega Library up for DL.
I think it would be cool to have a dual launched coasters. I certainly have only seen those in my creations on RCT.
I think I remember hearing about a Batman / Robin / Mr Freeze ride at a Six Flags that was a dueling launcher - anyone want to verify that?
My brother and I played RC ProAm with the living room stereo turned up so loud it blew all the seakers simultaneously. We got in big trouble, but that was BIG fun :) Uh-oh, oil-slick!
Batman and Robin: The Chiller WAS a dueling launcher, but it stopped dueling a couple of years ago because of the power consumption. They used to run one side for half the day, then the other side for the other half. Now it's not really running much at all.
Oh, thats sad. That had like a big inverted top-hat on one of the trains I think and looked like it'd be pretty fun. I guess not everyone has Cedar Fair's budget to just build more power stations for launched rides.
However, that brings us back even more on topic... Would power consumption on two simultaneous LIM launches be an issue? Would it be an issue if by pure coincidence, TTD, WT, P2007:a and P2007:b all attempted to launch at the same time? I can't imagine the quick drain that would cause the system.
