launch side

Does anyone know why the launch side has not been connected to the towers vertical track yet?
You mean that gap in the track? It's so they can remove the cranes easier. If they closed it now they wouldn't be able to simply drive in and out.

I would imagine that they've also been working on the launch equipment and housing, which should be right under where the track will be. This is probably another reason, but I'll bet the cranes are the main reason.

I think you will be launched on the side with the 270 degree twist because 1. It is the longest 2. the red and white track is like a finish line(dragster racing!) 3. a straight drop would be a lot better.

I know this has been said several times but you can not be launched on that side because there are non-retractable brakes there.

now that i looked at a picture that side is angled like the brakes on the xcelerator. having the launch by the midway would be more logical too.
The launch side also goes up on a slant. And the red/white track is to give a sensation of greater speed.

The launch and the brakes are on a slant for the same reason. Magnetic brakes can slow the train down to about 1 or 2 MPH, which is a controled speed. If the track is on a slant, the train will roll through, if it's flat, the train will eventualy stop.

On the launch side, if the train rolls back, then the train will slow on the brakes, but will roll back to the station. On the brake side, The train needs to roll through to allow the next train to launch.
