Launch: Tophat: Twistage: Brakes

I somewhat Agree with the last topic posted by Christopher Odorizzi. I am not saying I am not excited about #16 and cant wait to ride it but it seems all CP is thinking about now is breaking the records- not making a quality coaster. If you are going to make a coaster 420' high and 120 mph you might as well do something with it. If you look at the Xcelerator ( http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1574.htm )
it doesnt just
Launch: Tophat: Brakes I think CP could even do more than Knott's did on the Xcelerator. You could easilly add a couple hills and helixs. Still lookin forward to the #16 anyway!

[vent] I do agree wholeheartedly. And i know exactly what the responses to this are going to be... "we are spoiled" "CP doesent have to please us" "they dont owe us anything" im sick of hearing that because even though its true, they are a business right? They are an amusement park right? Well then please amuse us. The reason we love CP is because they are a great park with tons of quality coasters right? Well im sorry but this coaster doesent seem to be CP caliber quality. I can say that I am dissapointed that they would build such a coaster that would utilize...
a) all this space
b) all this new technology
c) the massive amounts of money needed to build it
Im sorry but launching 400+ feet and going 120 miles an hour for a mere 5-10 seconds doesent sound like a quality coaster to me. Sounds more like a ride. Everyones entitled to their own opinions but i personally would have waited another year or two and gotten a coaster like this with a few exciting suprises, camelhumps, turns and such; rather than just saying "HEY! It breaks world records come ride it." I have talked to a bunch of people who are definitely considered GP and told them about it. but when they saw the pictures online said "wow! that thing is really huge it looks so cool, Wheres the rest of it?" and when i break the news to them that thats it theyre really bummed. Not that they or I wont ride it, but it won't draw people in like a Millenium Force did. Part of the fun of Millie I think is the feeling of soaring though the trees on the island run part of the coaster and that nice long fast glide and wind in the hair feeling. [/vent] Oh well just my two pennies! Hope to see you guys there on opening day!

Just curious about one statement you made..

c) the massive amounts of money needed to build it

How can you say this without even knowing how much is being spent? I think alot of people may be surprised when they see the final dollar figures.

Ok, I'm opening myself for the flamers, here. Does anybody know "as a fact" that this is "it"? I don't think so. Maybe, I'm wrong. But, at what time of year did they begin work on MF? At what time of year was MF topped off? Do these dates coincide with the respective dates for #16? Think about it. At this point, all that's left to do is remove the cranes, build the station(s), wire it up, set the trains, and test. Seems to me, they are gonna have alot of time on thier hands until opening day. Yeah, yeah, I know the break run is "done", but how long did it take to finish. And how long do you suppose it would take to remove two sections of track, and pop this sucker over on the island for about a minute? Weren't they pouring footers for WT well into February?

Ok, give me time to hide!

I don't understand why so many people are so upset that they are getting a 400 foot roller coaster that launches you over 100 mph and that twists straight down. So what if it is short? Please let me explain...

With this type of ride, its ride length will make the ride. I don't think anyone understands how intense this ride will be. Everyone knows that the point of most excitment on a ride is the beginning-waiting to launch-first hill. Well thats all this ride is, and by the time you hit the brakes you won't know what hit you and I will guarantee you won't be dissappointed, and I know I won't!

I saw Christopher Odorizzi on a special on the Travel Channel. He goes to Cedar Point every year.HaHa that's funny.
Ok, but do you really think it's gonna take all of this track length (break run) to stop this thing? It, surely doesn't take this much track to stop WT, or MF, or........pick any of them. WT is going about 65 mph when it comes off the last launch, and I know there isn't nearly as much time to stop it as there will be on this thing.

Just my observation/speculation. Don't beat me up too bad, please.

Ok, go ahead and tear me up. I know you're dying to.

Ghetto, you hit the nail on the head, when you said: you wont know what hit you. The ride will be very intense, fun (no question), and over so fast, there will be no time to really enjoy the speed (yes, like MF).

Like Steve said, 16 is going to feel like a ride more than a coaster, and raised the same opinion from my friends -(thats it).

I do strongly disagree with Steve that it wont draw like MF - it will. I do think due to its length and short ride time, it will have trouble knocking MF or RoS at SFNE out of their top spots on most polls (its just too short IMO) - look at Supermans at MM.
