I'm getting married on May 13th, and of all people, my wife-to-be chose Cedar Point as our honeymoon destination. We've got reservations at for a Lighthouse Point cottage from Monday May 21st - Thursday May 24th. We'll spend some time at the park and check out the rest of the area like some of the islands.
Anyways, what's the weather usually like about that time? Warm? Cool? Wet? Dry? Coming up from Texas I'm sure it'll seem cold to us, but I'm just wondering what to prepare for.
This will be my first ever time to visit CP during 2 consecutive years! I guess MF made a real impression on my fiancee! :)
Weather In May is very unpredictable, all because of the lake. You could see temperatures as low as 45 degree's and as high as 90. Rain is always hit and miss. For the most part though you can expect it to be somewhat nice. I really enjoy those 65 degree and Sunny spring days. Just hope some High Pressure parks overhead when you visit.
I'm hoping maybe we'll get lucky and have some sunny 60 degree weather. We visited July 10-11th last summer and had a day and a half of perfect weather. The other half was a downpour! Try riding Power Tower up in a drenching rain! I've never been during the off-peak season either. It'll be nice and refreshing to see how light the May weekday crowds should be.
Last year on Opening Day (which happened to be May 13) the weather was GREAT. I wore a t-shirt and shorts and the sun was out all day. Then again it is Ohio weather, off and on.
BTW Power Tower up into the rain... feels like "a thousand knives stabbing into you". It's still fun though!

Majin, I hear ya on the Power Tower up in the rain deal!! My the top of my legs were red for quite a while after that ride!! I thought the coolest part was watching the rain drops go up as we went down. :) ahhhh...the wonderful memories...
Congrats by the way 1badgmc!!

We're having 80 degree temps today. Tomorrow it will be 60, and later in the week it will be 75 (just to give you a picture of the unpredictability of the weather)
Sounds almost as bad as our weather. One day in March it was 80 degrees and the next day we had 2" of snow on the ground.
Not only pack clothes for colder weather but maybe bring an extra blanket as well the cottages at Lighthouse point are only a few feet from the water and the wind will really make it chilly at night!
Congrats by the way.
