I went to Geauga Lake yesterday and had fun. I rode all the coasters available and also rode El Dorado, the log flume, the Bounty, Thriller Bees and the Dino Island simulator.
Dominator was as fun as usual and the highlight of my trip. I am sorry that itis leaving but gotta except it. It was wierd riding a coaster on its last day. This is a terrific coaster. Kings Dominion is getting a good one.
I must be one of the three people who like the Villain but I have always liked it. But the one train operation was not fun. There was only one train running on Thunderhawk so I just rode it once. It was pretty smooth I thought but the slow loading time kept me from riding again. Big Dipper was Ok. I didn't seem to get as much airtime. This coaster is of great sentimental value to me as I have rode this longer than any coaster that currently still stands. It's demise would be a travesty.
Headspin is not one of my favorite coasters but it was a walk on and and I actually sort of enjoyed it. Double Loop is a classic as well as it was the first coaster to have two vertical loops in a row. It is 30 years old and I remember riding it in 1977 and thought the first drop was so huge.
The flume looked really bad. I don't think it has much time left. There is no water on the drop. I had to ride it for old time's sake. It was a new ride when I first visited the park in 1972.
I looked at Raging Wolf Bobs and noticed that the wolf in gone on the sign. The boulder sign with the name of the ride on it had a wolf on top of it but it was gone.
All in all it was a good day.
