Laser show time!

I'm a huge fan of the SS...have a ton of good memories from it. I may be one of the few :-) but I always watch it if I'm around when it's on. Traditionally it started this weekend...so anyone got an update as to whether it's different this year? Hope to god it is! :-P

Why would it start over a month after the park opened? It was showing last year at Coastermania and the park opened a week later than this year.

Partly because of how light it is at 10pm for awhile -- why waste the effects when they can't be seen that well? Also why bother having it the days the park closes at 7/8pm, doesn't make much sense then. It is pretty expensive to run, so that's why it's kept to when the crowds are getting bigger as a balance for the light. I love it personally, can't get enough of it, either watching or working it!

It starts when CP begins staying open until at least 10PM daily - that day this year is June 8. The park usually closes before 10PM prior to June 8 (except weekends). A laser show can't be seen when it's not dark. I was there a week ago and did not get to see this, as the park was closing at 8PM. It was still light out at 9PM, one hour after close. I guess the light show on MF was a reasonable substitute, especially since it was visible from our room at Breakers!

Last year it previewed May 19 and May 20 and ran daily from May 26 - August 20. Of course, last year, the park's daily 10pm closing started on May 26.
