Laser show this season.

I haven't heard much about it. Anything new or different.

Has it opened yet?

It opened last Friday.

I'll leave it at that.

"I'd rather be a PUSSY than a DRAGON!"

I miss the country songs from the past few years. I also don't like how there are no longer the "big boomers," at the end of the show. The ones now are silent and don't even line up with U.S.A.

However, I do like how more fireworks have been added at the beginning of the show along with a few new sequences of fireworks.

2010: TL Millennium Force
2009: TL Iron Dragon | 2008: ATL maXair
2007: Wicked Twister | 2006: maXair
2002-2005: Ride Photo

I remember thinking 'Save a horse, ride a cowboy... now there is an interesting choice for a family oriented show' lol. Then I recalled a song about drug use was still in the show (the classic Steppenwolf ditty Magic carpet ride) and thought well at least riding a cowboy is still legal in most states... lol. That was a fun discussion with a special 6 year old I had at the show. Yes honey, they mean piggy-back rides.

*sigh*

Neil, Just Wondering....What parts of the show did you control? I assumed everything was automated.

i think the best one i saw was the 02 show. since i worked at power tower that year, we heard it every night and had a lot of fun with guests on the towers when it was on because they would come down and be doing the ymca. the 03 show was ok but i didnt care for the sports stuff they put in it. didnt see last years show.. but saw this years and it just wasnt the same. yeh i was disappointed about the no big boomers at the end. that was always my favorite part of the show.

Back in '00, my friends and I were watching the show. There were two kids, probably about five or six years old, about 15-20 feet in front of us. They were dancing to the music, as you would expect little kids to do. Nothing out of control. They weren't trying to do backflips or moshing or bothering the other guests, they were just being kids. Anyhow, a park security guard walks up to them and tells them they have to stop.

???

How can you justify telling two little kids to stop dancing around when you're blasting music at them with big spiffy lights going off all around them? That REALLY left a sour taste in my mouth about CP.

Side story from that same year, I was walking around all day with a wallet leash on. Was sure to cram it all the way down in my pocket on rides, didn't have any problems from any ride ops or anything, and near the end of the day as we're walking down the Midway, security rushes up to me and demands that I put the thing away or I'll be escorted from the park. You'd swear I was carrying a sidearm or something.

Back to the lightshow, around 15-30 after closing hour, you can kind of see some of the fireworks on the cleveland cam. Kinda cool.

He would control the crowd.

Can any give a detailed rundown of this years show. Being pyro ( I mean fireman) I smile when i hear there are more fireworks!!! All I can say loud music and explosions make me happy lol. Anyways, does anyone have any music listing from the show this year and what do they mean more fireworks?

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

not just the crowd....we controlled the lights on the rides and the WildCat bathrooms...hahaha

we made sure guests werent in any dangerous areas where fireworks could possibly land...very tough job...ive had cigarettes thrown at me, ive gotten yelled/cursed at, ive gotten pushed, i got ran over purpously by motorized carts and baby strollers, and many more exciting stories...haha

Are you referring to the guy that stopped the kids? If so, I would hardly call two five-year olds a crowd. It was still early in the season, the "crowds" watching the show were quite sparse, and good Lord, they were little kids who, as I said, were not bothering any of the other guests.

If you mean the guy ordering me to pocket the leash, I can understand that. Doesn't mean he had to be a Nazi right off the bat.

I think the best laser shows were the first two years. This year's show had more fireworks, which is nice, but too much computer animated video and not enough laser animations. The selection of music was only fair and the show seemed short.

I agree with CPL about 'Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy', what were they thinking!
