Laser Show

I just looked at the shows listed on Cedar Point's official website and it did not list the laser show as one of them. Is the laser show still going to be there or are they going to remove it?

I doubt that CP would remove their summer spectacular laser light show. It is a really good show that the whole family can enjoy. It's a really good ending for someones day at the park. I've always liked the show...it meant shorter lines at my ride and that was always a plus.

That's the laser show.

On closer inspection, that page only lists the venues, not the shows.

I have talked to my boss and there is a laser show like always. However I have heard rumors about a different laser show so maybe this will mean some new songs. Please lord let there be some new songs.

I would think that if there is "new" laser show that they would somehow hype it as being "new" or "improved" as another thing to promote for the new season.

I hope I am wrong though. I wouldn't mind some new variety in the show.

I guess if it was majorly changed they would hype it a little.

I'd like to see a new show, but the old formula has seemed to work well. Seeing that I get to the point many times during the season, it is easy to seek new things, as once a year attendees don't see the repetition.

Anyone ever seen Fantasmic (I think that's the name) at disneyland in Anaheim, CA? If CP could get something like that then people would come just to see the show alone. With the lake right there I think the beach would be perfect for putting on a show like that.

Fantasmic is much better than Summer Spectacular. Kids may like Summer Spectacular, but I know they would love it more, much more, if Cedar Point had the resources to spice it up.

Fantasmic is a great show... problem with doing it at CP is not only the weather of northern Ohio but also the water that Disney is doing the show on is controlled.

It's not a natural body of water..

It COULD be done at Geauga Lake, much smaller body of water with ALOT less variables, but not out on Lake Erie.

Oh yeah... I didn't think of that. I still think it would be awesome. I don't think snoopy has any enemies though so they couldn't do the whole Mickey vs. The sleeping beauty witch/dragon. However, I think Cedar Point DOES have the resources to do it. They just might have to create their own characters or use the current ones. I haven't seen fantasmic in YEARS but I still remember it and how in awe I was.

DL Fantasmic was fabulous. We sprang for the reserved riverside seating as a splurge to end our week there. It cost us almost half as much as our annual passes, but it was worth every penny to not have to stake out a space an hour or so in advance on the pavement with two small children.

The dessert buffet was good, too!

Edit: you can bet your collection of Disney DVDs that Imagineering holds a patent on the water screens.

My favorite part of the show was when they would show the still images of each coaster's logo, and the crowd would cheer for their favorite coaster. When did that go away? It's been a couple years, at least.

They dont even need to go to the extreme of Fantasmic...they could use some ideas from Knott's Berry Farm. They had the Edison Electric Nights Show on the lagoon before they started Silver Bullet construction. It used basic water, lights, lasers, pyro...I still think the Summer Spectacular is adequate...

I think the CP's spectaular has been going down the drain since it's second season in 96. The first year they did have an excuse to show logos and sports teams and such just to get the crowd to cheer. Ever since then it's been basically the exact same show with minor changes from year to year.

I think the show took a major step towards improvement in 2002 in renaming it and pulling in snoopy. I thought the whole show was rather revamped looking. Then last summer 2003 it was back to being CP's 1995 Summer spectacular and now with Snoopy.

Give the show an actual story line. You might actually get a lot more people cheering and coming back to see it. Seceondly, change the ending. The show has been proud to be an american since it's start in 95. There are plenty of partriotics songs to choose from.

Maybe the show is good if you have travelled a long distance and need to relax, or if it is your first time ever to see the show. But there have been a lot of first time show viewers who have told me it was embarrassing.
