Laser Light Show

I personally think the light show is lame, but I did always want to know why Iron Dragon and Wildcat close. Can anyone tell why?

I have a feeling that it must be a reason for laster lights or something like that.

Not the lasers - that's why the Space Spiral and Giant Wheel close. Iron Dragon and Wildcat close because those big green boxes (on the ID lawns and inside the Wildcat) contain the huge blast fireworks (for the end "America" part of the show). It wouldn't look good if one of those misfired into the ride and it was still operating. :) The two coasters cannot reopen until they have the all-clear from the pyrotechnics people that the fireworks are safe. This is also why no one is supposed to be on the inside of the ID fence or on the WC entrance/exit ramps during the show.

One time, a guest was trying to camp out on the lawn just before the show (sitting next to a box, no less) and refused to believe me when I told him the fireworks are in there (please, if you're mad at a ride op, don't use foul language - it isn't very nice...). I wanted to tell him to take a good close look about 10:23pm and he'd find out. I wanted to, but I didn't... ;)

Hey speaking of the Summer Spectacular, I was noticing that this year, during Halloweekends, the park is going to have something called "The Haunted Drive-In." I thought that, at night, they might be showing old horror movies on that screen. Does anyone know if my guess is correct?
When I say old horror movies, I mean the old B movies that aren't really scary.

I thought that might be where it is located. That would be neat, that's for sure! Maybe they'll be CP-made movies, like the coasters being haunted or something - 10 minute movies and the like, because how many people are really going to sit on the midway for 1-2 hours to watch it?

Could be in the IMAX too, come to think of it. Better seats. :)
