Lap Bars Decaying?

Anyone ever notice when you put the lap bar down that the lap bars look like they've been chewed upon or beat up? I don't know what the lapbar is made of, but they might want to replace them. Tell me what you think.
uhh as long as they hold me in, who cares..... why fix something thats not broken

Because the park doesn't maintain their rides like Six Flags does.

Cedar Point maintains their rides. What are you talking about dude? If Cedar Point didn't maintain their rides, Millennium Force would've been down 2 days back in early August rather than 1. And If Cedar Point didn't maintain their rides Top Thrill Dragster would be down longer instead of an hour. They bust their butts to get their coasters going.

I hear you Shawn Meyer, when the yellow train on MF broke, the maintains guy's got it up and running in a 30 min. I feel the most safe'est going on rides and coasters there than most other parks that I visit. To me they keep a higher standerd then other parks do.
While I didn't notice the decay on MF, I did notice it on Blue Streak on the very back seat on the left side where I could actually see some metal under padding. They really need taken care of more than any I've seen on MF, yet it still holds you in and doesn't hurt the ridder, its more just a visual thing.

Shawn, Jeff was being sarcastic. Of course CP will eventually nedd to address this, but it's not exaclty high priority until it becomes a danger.
Yea...

Like CP cares at all about comfort.

*cough*CCMR*cough*

Well I know it's not at the point where it looks its not going to hold you but it in some cars it looks as if they chopped part of it off. Like maybe 3/4s of it.

Protective foam covering on restraints definately sounds like an off season repair. It may or may not be an easy repair. But it could be time consuming. A little missing foam probably isn't an important enough to tackle while the park is still open for the season. =)

Okay, I admit it! Sometime on a coaster, I get a little hungry and start chewing on the lap bars and seat pads. :)

wow-your there for the thrills and fun, but yet your worried about how your lap looks during the ride?...hahahaha

That's funny! I've had the temptation but I just fought it through the ride and jumped off and went to go by some fries.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

well the only coaster calm enough to eat the foam on a lap bar is, Iron Dragon, just like my little brother said 1 first ime he rode it when he 9 or 10, i could sleep on that ride, i could do my homework on that ride, try to eat it on a wooden coaster, you'll have no teeth when you get off, & Magnum is also bumpy enough to take off some teeth....lol

I could see on a Discovery Channel coaster show, and have come budy eating and drinking on Magnum. Maybe that person could be Mr. Magnum?
I just know that *someone* is going to attempt chewing on a lap bar for an onride photo after this, and is going to end up with their front teeth knocked out when the train jars them. (Quick, everyone! Go try it on Magnum! ^_~)

haha. Wouldn't that be a hysterical incident report?

"John Doe injured front teeth."

*checkmark in on ride*

*chechmark in mouth*

*NOTES: "John Doe was attempting to "eat the foam" on the ride in a futile attempt to have a good on-ride photo."

*Employees notes: "MORON"

Ha ha!! Exactly the scenario I had in mind.
