Lap Bar

For those of you who rode it, was the lap bar tight, or did those of you who are bigger have any troble getting it down?
It was tight, very very tight.

Might be a good thing though! ;)

Yeah, some the ride hosts used thier foot to push the lab bar down as tight as it would possibly go! The design of this train has a bit more room than a MF train in my opinion. I think they improved the seat design a bit on TTD!

Opening Day, just a few long days away!
LOL yeah, I fastened to "my liking" and the ride op came and fastened umm... "not" to my liking. But you don't even notice it until the release it. What an AWESOME RIDE.

I still like the tree on Xcelerator better, then again its the ONLY thing about Xcelerator I like more than Dragster.

Definately stapled to the seat as tight as possible. I thought there was a little less leg room on Dragster than MF. But my big butt sat pretty well in the seat and I didn't have much problems getting the belt buckled.

May is here, the sun is out and Cedar Point is rolling again!

Does anybody else think it's kinda difficult to tighten the belt, after it's buckled? I'm not a skinny rail, but not huge, either(size 34 waist). But, I have to really pull on the loose end of the belt to get it sufficiently tight. I noticed that the ops have to really yank to tighten them, too. I guess, if they're that hard to tighten, they sure won't come loose mid-ride.:)

I thought I had the belt nice and tight, too - until the ride op pulled the belt and pushed the bar down at the same time! Next time I'll make sure my keys are not in my pocket on the top of my leg. Ouch! I didn't think there was any room for me to move until I came off the seat over the tophat.
Three hours after close, still running http://www.cedarpoint.com/_cpcam/cam2_0000000001.jpg

I'm not really a big guy, but the belt on Milli was kind of tight on me last year. Does anybody think I will have a problem with dragster? Do you think I should keep woring about this???!!!!???

The front car IMO was a real tight fit, much tighter all around than MF. I only got the one ride though, so I can't say much about the other cars. I didn't get any air at all at the tophat. I'm not complaining, just stating the fact. This ride is all about positive g's, at least that's my "first ride" impression. G Whiz! :)

Did they let you wait for certain seats? Or did they tell you what seat to go to?
The belt on Dragster and Millenium Force are exactly the same length as far as I can tell.

ONE freeway stamp a day... ONE

The new lap bar design is a godsend. Us guys can actually tighten down the lap bar (or the ops can do it) without suffering injury to vital organs.

The seat belt, though, is a bit of a disaster. The problem is that it requires both hands to fasten the belt, but the buckle is located so far down the outboard side of the seat that in order to reach it with the inboard hand, the rider has to twist in the seat. The upshot of all this is that for me to fasten the belt, I must extend the belt to its full length, even though I could still fit easily if the belt were several inches shorter. I'd never be able to get the belt fastened myself, but I would fit. By design, once the buckle is fastened, it is supposed to be non-adjustable, which is why the ops have to pull so hard to adjust the belt.

One of three things needs to happen...
1) Operators need to be able to offer assistance in getting the belt fastened, even if it is only a matter of holding the buckle so that the rider can fasten the belt with only one hand.

2) The buckle needs to be fixed in position so that the belt may be fastened with only one hand

or

3) The outboard end of the belt needs to be made longer so that the buckle fastens in front of the rider instead of down on the outboard side, making the buckle easily accessible to both hands.

wingnut, you could wait for the front car, and I think the back as well, but not I'm not sure.

Ok, Thanks again macho nachos.
By the time I got there. You weren't given a choice of seat. That would've been a major traffic jam. I'm, actually, glad of it.

early in the morn, you could wait for front, unless the queue for front was at "full capacity". we got second to front...

I had no problem with the belts, and I would add that they indeed seemed a little longer than those on MF (either that or the seat is a little deeper, and that might be it).

The new bars are better simply because they have a bend in them. The bar touches your thighs before it touches your testicles. That's important.

They can staple all they want. It doesn't reduce the airtime at all.
