Labor Day Weekend

Has anyone ever visited the park on Labor Day weekend before? And if so, how are the crowds??

I have and LaborDay is never crowded at all.

Don't even bother going. It will be so crowed you won't be able to move.

^ Yes but LaborDay is is usually not crowded, on friday saturaday and sunday it is.

I'm going tomorrow (Friday) and I don't expect it to be busy. I hope not anyway. My reasoning is that school is in session (except MI public), people work, and I believe they'd be more likely to go Sat/Sun/Mon than Fri. Saturday will be, I believe, terrible as always. I went on Memorial weekend Sun/Mon and while not terrible, it could have been better.

Nothing compares to weekdays in May. Maybe all my trips next summer will be in May. :)

My last trip on Labor Day was two years ago. The weather was slightly overcast, but warm, and it was an especially busy day. We were happy when we were hit with a downpour around 4-5 pm, thinking it would thin the crowds out a bit. Nope...everyone stuck around.

So, what I'm saying is although GENERALLY, Labor Day itself can be a great day to go, there is no guarantee it won't be busy.

I used to go the Thursday before Labor Day every single year as most people would wait until the weekend.

I will be there on Monday, hoping it won't be too busy.

I think more and more people are learning that trick (stick around through a rain storm). It doens't seem to work as well as it used to.

I plan on being there Monday from open to close. Whether it's busy or not, I'll still have a great time. I've been on a few extremely busy days this summer, but still managed to get on everything I wanted to.
