Labor Day crowd

Greetings

Any thoughts on the relative crowd volume on Labor Day itself - not the weekend. Have gone thru the posts and noted various repsonses to Labor Day "Weekend", but haven't found one that specifically mentionned Monday.

Many thanks.

It is very dependent on the weather that weekend.

And remember that Michigan public schools (and I think Ohio) don't go back until after Labor Day.

Not sure about Michigan schools but a lot of northeast Ohio schools start back up again the week of August 27th.

Michigan is after Labor Day.

And there was talk last spring of moving Ohio's start to after Labor Day as well, but I haven't kept tabs on it.

Most schools in Ohio start next Tuesday (August 28th). Most colleges, however, started today or some even tomorrow.

Some schools in the outlying Toledo areas are starting this Wednesday, August 22nd. TPS (Toledo Public Schools) start on August 28th.

I have been to Cedar Point on several Labor Days. The crowd is not bad. Granted, it would be better to go sometime during the week next week instead, but if you have limited availability on when you can go, I'd choose Labor Day over any other time that weekend.

I remember several years ago going to Soak City on Labor Day and it wasn't crowded with nice weather.

How do you guys think the crowds will be Saturday during Labor Day? I'm thinking of goig then.

Well, you can't go the week following Labor Day because if I'm not mistaken, CP is no longer open during the week. I'm hoping for light crowds this week, with some schools starting, but the rain for the first two days could make for heavier crowds on Wednesday. Oh well, no way to be sure.

As far as predicting crowds for Labor Day...I think there's an FAQ about this...somewhere....

Way too busy. Never go on a Saturday. That's just dumb.

I think both Saturday and Sunday will be busy, with Monday not as. People think of that as a long weekend and more will go on Sunday than usual.

I have actually had good luck going on the two summer 3 day weekends (Memorial and Labor) with minimal crowds most of the time at the parks I have visited as a general rule. However, I have never been to CP on Labor day weekend, nor will I this year (Im going to the ND GT game instead, wohoo football is back!)

Would anyone know how the crowds would be and if all the rides will be open on Sept 8th?

Sept 8 is the Sat. of the only Bonus Weekend this year. In the past, the crowds during that whole weekend have generally been light, but with only one bonus weekend this year, it's anyone's guess.

As far as the rides, they should all be running on a Saturday.

Thunder Canyon will be closed as they prepare for Halloweekends.

Friday night will have limited ride availability. Everything should be open on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm not sure if SRF will be open. It was closed when I went on closing weekend last year (but had been open the year before). I don't know if it'll stay open for September or not.

As for crowds? The "bonus weekends" are traditionally dead. Can't say for sure what it'll do, but I doubt it will be busy.

I've been on Labor Day the past three years and the crowds have always been low. Usually the waits for milli and dragster are 30 min to an hour. Everything else is around 15 to 30 min. Not too bad.

I'm going on Sunday, how do you all think crowds will be?

My friend rode MF 25 times on Labor Day two years ago. Of course, it rained all day.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I will be going labor Day i am hoping the crowd is not bad since it could be the last time i go this year.

I wasn't sure if I was going earlier in the week since I work 2 jobs, but now I'm for sure going on Labor Day. Hopefully the weather is nice unlike August 5th when I went last.

Well you wont have to worry about the weather this time Shawn, as it's going to be a beautiful day.

I sure hope the crowds are down as well. I could go for a Dragster and Maverick marathon.

We went Memorial Day Sunday and the place was a ghosttown. Thinking about going on Monday, but I'm Bringing A Friend (tm) and it's going to depend on his schedule. Definitely going the 10th, though.

How quickly should I expect the line for Maverick to exceed one hour on Sunday September 3rd?, and what is the maximum length the line would probably become? I've only previously visited CP on weekdays, and I need a gauge on what kind of lines to expect
