Kings Island question???

My family and I are heading to Kings Island tomorrow. I was wondering if the x-flight from Geauga Lake was moved to K.I. and is their new Firehawk? If not is it like X- Flight? We LOVE that ride!! Wish C.P. would have one like it!! Feels like you are flying!! Thanks!!

Yes, Firehawk is the former X-Flight.

In addition, it runs much smoother now as "Firehawk", is in a better location (surrounded by trees instead of pavement and yellow lines), and has much better capacity (both stations are almost always used).

Better be prepared to wait forever to ride it.

I was there last Friday and while the rest of the park had walk-ons, you couldn't touch the X-Flight....err...I mean "Firehawk".

It took me about an hour a couple weeks ago. Everything else was station waits (not quite walk-on). The problem is that train A would be back to the station before train B was gone, so there was a bit of in-efficiency there.

Kings Island has some really weird line times. Face/Off, Drop Zone, and Firehawk are the only rides that really exhibit longer lines on weekdays. Everything else is virtually a walk-on. The Beast and Vortex are really good rides, but since they run 3 trains efficiently the lines are always really short. It's a good park, and on a weekday you can kill almost everything in about 4 hours.

I was at King's Island this past sunday and monday. I was there 6 years ago, but unable to ride anything big since my son was only 4 at the time. Prior to that, i hadn't been there in close to 20 years. I have to say i had a great time! The first day we got there, we didn't get into the park until 330pm. The park was pretty slow and we got on mostly everything. here is my trip summary:

Top gun(1)-wait time-10 min-I had never ridden this and I must say it was great! I was expecting Iron Dragon but it was MUCH faster with alot of swining!

Racer (2)-(wait time <5min)We rode it both times backwards. i love that feeling! I would be thrilled if CP would do that with Gemini. My mom rode it forwards and really hurt her neck on the 2nd ride.

Flight of Fear (2) (wait time 15-20min)I had ridden this at King's dominion but I have to say I think it was a little different and better.

Vortex (1)wait time 10 min-The first drop had alot of airtime, but besides that, I didn't really care for it. i think was the last big coaster built when I was there years ago.

Italian Job (1)-wait time 30min-I love this ride! I rode it several times at KD. It is so much fun and way more than it looks!

Son of beast(1)-wait time 10 min-this is a fun ride but I have to say, doesn't come close to its father! I never rode it with the loop.. not sure how much I was missing. My mom loved it, but I just didn't see the magic of it. maybe if I would have ridden it at night i would have thought differently.

The Beast (5-6 rides?) wait time 5-15min)ok, so I forgot pretty much everything about this ride since I was only 9-10 the last time I rode it. I LOVED IT!! i think it is the only wooden coaster that I truly love. We road it 2x the first night in the dark. The drop into the 3rd tunnel after the 2nd lift is insane the way it is angled and the speed you achieve. Crazy! hurts, but hurts so good LOL I wish it was closer to me... I would ride it all summer!!!

We didnt get the chance to ride Face off due to time constraints and Tomb Raider was closed much to my son's diappointment.

The 2nd day we hit a few rides before heading over to Boomerang Bay. We went on firehawk. We waited 45 min which I didn't think was too horrible. It was my son's first time on it. He LOVED it! I know it may not be the fastest, etc ride, but it definitely provides a feeling like no other! The last time I was at GL I thought it was quite sad to see the empty patch of land where it had been. Being at KI and seeing how excited people were about it, made me even more wish it was closer to home at GL.

The 2nd day we spent most of the day in the water park and had a blast! Pretty short lines (<30 min) and very hot (90-95 degrees!)

We headed back to the ride side with about an hour to spare and rode Firehawk(20 min wait) and the beast one more time.

All in all, it was a great trip! it is really fun to ride some different rides. I love CP but something new is great too!

I was there on Tuesday.. I think you guys have been going at the wrong times or something.

My longest wait was indeed Firehawk.. about 30 minutes.

EVERYTHING else was a walk-on. We got something like 7 strait re-rides on Drop Zone. Beauty.

As for Firehawk.. it is indeed much better then it's former X-Flighted self. Seeing both sides running was a breath of fresh air tbh.
