King's Island

My girlfriend and I are planning to drive from Toronto to PKI for a couple of days there, before heading back up to CP for a day or two.

This may not be the best place to ask, but I'm wondering if PKI is worth an extra four hour drive on top of the six hour drive we'll be taking to get near Sandusky?

Keep in mind that basically hotel and food are all we'll pay for, sice we have season's passes to both Paramount and CP.

We've never been to PKI, so it'd be a first for us.. worth it or not?

Yes, PKI is a great park and easily worth another 4 hour drive.

Extremely so. It's not as big on coasters as CP, but the atmosphere and variety of rides (including the sweet Tomb Raider ride) totally make up for it.

I notice you've been to Canada's Wonderland and you'll find the park layout is surprisingly similar. If you replace Wonder Mountain with the Eiffel Tower you've basically got the park right there with a few minor details changed.

Yeah the park is worth the drive down and back. Besides, you'll be able to tell everyone back home you rode the 1st and 2nd longest wooden coasters in the world.

Yes, I'd definately go, it is worth it. They don't have the coaster collection of CP, but good nonetheless. Try to get a night ride on the Beast ;)

Another question..

Michigan's Adventure would add another 4 hour drive on the trip back.. [4 hours both ways, of course].

We get in free with our CP passes.. but is THAT drive worth it, too?

Well Shivering Timbers is one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world, its really up to you. Some would say it is worth it some would say it isn't. I personally would go, but I would pretty much drive anywhere to ride coasters... ;)

Might as well go for it grind your soul, you'll be in the area and it's included in your season pass. Unfortunately Canada does not have a huge selection of amusement parks, the only Canadian one I've ever been to is Wonderland. I live in Windsor which puts me about 4 hours ahead of you, so I say, while you're here, go for it.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Considering gas prices and the fact that you're going to both PKI and CP, I'm not sure Michigan's Adventure would be cost efficient for the size of the park and the amount of rides worth riding.

Do you have a CP annual pass or one from another park? If it is one of the other park, I would add Geauga Lake to the trip. It is right on the way hone and has a decent collection of unique coaster that CP, PKI, or PCW don't have.

Tomb Raider and The Beast are worth the trip to PKI alone.

King's Island, is fun, but if I had my choice, it's Cedar Point. CP is 4 hours, PKI is 2 1/2 so I'd drive the extra

Yes a night ride on the Beast is a can't miss, for anyone one's coaster trip.

I agree Gravity But Italian Job Stunt Track is a great ride also. By far my favorite at the park i have rode it 20 times and it is a must while down there
