the other day, about a week ago, me and the kid I babysit for were riding the cadillac cars, and some kid actually drove the car of the track! It caused a traffic jam, and the ride ops were trying to move the car back on track with the kid still in it? Did anyone else see this?
Who wants to see a high dive? I said, who wants to see a high dive?
Remarkable.

I didn't think that was possiable.
Yeah, same with a TTD tophat stall. Especially with riders on it...
Einstein was a goof, wasn't he? ;)
It could have been at the spot where the cars are unloaded for re-fueling and offseason maintenance, but I don't know how that section of the track works. Someone like Dave would know a lot more about it that I would.

I have seen it happen numerous times. Any of a number of things could cause it. It could be a damaged set of guides under the car, unusual tire pressure which would have the car off-balance, damaged guide track, weight in the car combined with speed and certain angles, etc.

Right Chief. I've never seen it happen at Cads but I did see a kid jump track over at Antiques. He headed straight towards the lagoon water and showed no intent of stopping. The only reason he was stopped is because another guest jumped over the fence from the midway, ran over to the runaway car and took over the steering from the kid. That had to have been one of the funniest things I have ever seen in that park.

Scariest, not funniest, I would think.

you can lift the cars off of the track.. There is one place where the track "breaks" where you can take the car off the track and store it. I highly doubt an employee would leave a guest in a car while they moved it to get it "back on track".
We used to have to lift the cars off the track when they broke down, even with the dolly, those cars were heavy! I can't imagine lifting one with a guest in it!

I think it's kind of funny because a KID drove it off. You would think CP would have more than jus a lil bar in the middle of the track. They ShOuLd have side bars too just in case.
Don't feel bad Rihard... i have a feeling i would have laughed to. :) and like some of you have said i really didn't think it was possible. i mean in the few times i have rode it, i have just sat on the gas and let it drive itself at times and i always got "pulled" back thanks to the guide rail. Hmmm.... the answers to how the guest managed to get off the track are endless. ook maybe not endless but still.
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
I did that myself on the Turnpike Cars when I was a kid. It happened once by continuously slamming the car from left to right agains the center guide rail, one of the slams allowed the guide wheels to slip over the center guide and the car was free. I tried to repeat that many times but I never got it going in just the right way again. It was fun to drive the car on the grass around the track, until a ride op came over and told me to stop.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I wish I could have seen both of these incidents, I would have been laughing my head off. That would make for great video as well. I think you could win America's Funniest Videos with that footage. *** Edited 6/30/2005 4:12:33 AM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
That's funny Pete. It'd be fun to try and do that, but being an adult, they would probably kick me out of the park for intentionally knocking a car off the track. Stupid expected maturity.

awww that would've been kool if I had a video camera! lol the kid looked like he was about 12, and he was just sitting there like nothing happened.

Thanks for the guide, I'll be sure to try that next time I'm at the point... >=)
