Just think about it, this thursday will be one month before the park opens. But, there is still no action on maXair.

Your point being?
Let me guess, you suppose it won't be ready for opening day because you haven't seen it tested. I don't think that maXair will have to go through the same amount of testing as a coaster. I'm sure they'll be testing it any day now.
I never said it was not going to be ready for opening day.

Isn't maXair's engine system relatively new to Cedar Point. Wouldn't it have to be tested a consecutive amount of times because it's new.

Ok they promised it would be open for opening day and for the 2005 season, so I don't understand why there is a need to worry.

The ride is complete all thats left is to put down the cement. Plus they are busy relocating the games and painting the Magnum.
My point is there is alot of more things to do than to just start test riding the attractions. Don't get me wrong testing the rides is very important but a park also makes sure everything else is done first for example fixing a ride up or inspecting the trains and tracks.

I'd say that testing the rides is up there on the "todo" list. Just imagine, they leave testing to the last week and find out that a mechanical part broke and they have to order a new one from Germany but it won't be in Sandusky for another 2 weeks, then what? Thats why they start testing a good number of days/weeks before the park opens.

Yeah, it's new to CP, but it's not new like Dragster was. I know you didn't say it wouldn't be operating, but then what was your point? *** Edited 4/5/2005 6:18:42 PM UTC by Coasterfury***
Ok, TTD and Im sure everyother ride, has already started testing. Look at the webcams for a sec. TTD has trains on the track and Space Spiral's Cabin has been moved up. Odds are they have probably started testing. Lets just not worrry about anything not working. It will. No worries.

I can't wait until I start seeing Cedar Point commercials on TV and hearing them on the radio because I have been hearing Six Flags commercials and I'm already sick of them because they are played so much. BRING ON THE CP COMMERCIALS!!!

The old SFWOA ads drove me crazy. The some had more ride selection than CP.

The old man commercials were weird and were a futile effort. I don't really see how an old man would be a good mascot.

/\ however it has proven very succesful for them. My mother writes for amusement business and sometimes about park food.
Uh, the Mr. Six campaign was one of the single best branding campaigns anyone did last year. The problem is that many parks in the chain are so poorly run that it won't likely have a positive long-term effect.
