Just how big........

exactly is CP? Coming over from the UK our parks arent exactly massive (altough alton towers is fairly big) and i just am trying to realise the true size of CP.
All this talk of walking round to marina entrance and doing the back before others get there, make it sound huge?
If you were to walk from 1 side of park to the other, how far, long is it.

Well, I'm not exactly certain about distance (I'm sure others are!) without looking it up, but to walk from the main gate to the back of the park (let's say, Mean Streak) would take about 30 minutes if you're just strolling along. It sounds big, especially when you consider how many coasters the park has plus all the other attractions, but it is really laid out well and fairly compact. Just wear good walking shoes, as with any amusement park!

The park is 364 acres (64 acre parking lot). The distance from the front gate up one midway the very back of the park and down the other midway and back up to the front gate is approximately 2.1 miles. Trust me, when you go to Cedar Point, you get a good use of your legs in. :)

In contrast, I understand Alton Towers to be approximately 500 acres -- if that's any help.
