Just a few ?'s comments

first this is 1st post so hello to all in the group, My name is mike mixon and I am a 22year old male from columbus that has been fasicinated with cp my whole (young) life thus far.

a few things
when I visited the point in October and looked at the new ride being built, i noticed on the backside of the structure, where you have the "crosswalks" every 50 feet up or so, there seems to be some sort of motors hanging off the backside of the platforms..i was real puzzled as to what they were.. any ideas..anyone else seen these?

second, I remember reading in the Columbus Dispatch about 5-6 years ago that Cedar Point had attained a permit to start draining the lagoons so they could further expand to the islands...I believe this might be whats happening now...

third... why the heck dosent Cp pump money in2 DISpatch mASTER TRANSPORT (Notice the official spelling), and at least turn on the original effects? its sad to see a ride that was halfway decent with effects, turn downright boring and what really kills me is atleast while waiting in line you could look at the robots, listen to the space mission...so on and so fourth, but now they've reduced the use of the building to halloweekends and put up those tacky metal "barricades"...

is it me or is the raptor getting rougher?

BRING BACK THE RED CANDY APPLES!!

also has anyone noticed how the cp park cams that sho the new ride, at the bottom of the frame, it is cut off only showing 70% of the screen? is this to hide whats going on in the other area?

what do you all think about cp making iron dragon floorless? it would add a little thrill...right now the only thrill is the mist over the lagoon! i remember the commercials for that ride had me terrified then, with the dragon and all...

thanks for your time, please dont hesitate to speak your mind...

This sounds like a lot of things already discussed here on the forums. Also this should really be more under general, but thats my opinion.

Ugh, and on my Thanksgiving too. :-)

Parts of an elevator system used to take maintenance workers to and from the multi-level cat-walks.

Plans for 'Dragster' may have originally included the island, however Cedar Point allegedly changed the 'Dragster' plans a number of times. Maybe, maybe not.

Cedar Point did as much as they will with DT this past season with the opening of its neighbor, WT. It's not much, but its better than nothing, I suppose. Almost everyone here will agree with you, though. They should either bring it back to its "glory", or raze it.

Raptor is still smoother than Manits. :-)

Red Candy Apples - that's what Halloweekends are for, my friend.

Webcam/Computer defect. That happens often when one compresses a webcam image. This, of course, depends on a numer of factors, including the camera itself, but don't get too excited.

Iron Dragon floorless? Wasn't it the first of its kind?

Now, for some turkey, ham, potatoes (with a lot of butter), rolls, salads, pumpkin pies, etc.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I believe that I heard about the draining of the lagoons being for Banshee (Mantis) several years ago.

Raptor, since being painted, has become an intense beast because they painted the rails, making the friction less of an effect on the ride. I wouldn't call it rough, but more intense. Some people think that Mantis is rough, I just think that it's intense. It ought to be screaming through the course next year with the new paint. :)

I remember back in the day when Disaster Transport was new. I was looking through the old brochures on www.virtualmidway.com and I came across the promotional brochure for DT. It brought back the memories. It was one of the few coasters I was tall enough to ride back then.

Iron Dragon was the first suspended in Northern Ohio. The Bat down in PKI was the first ever suspended, but it didn't last because they didn't bank the track. I doubt they will put floorless trains on ID, but it would be a nifty improvement.

If you're asking if Iron Dragon was the first suspended, it wasn't. The Bat at PKI was the first, but had problems and was torn down. The first Successful suspended was Big Bad Wolf at BGW. But, you probably knew.

The Bat was awesome! Very intense ride....turned out to be a tad bit too intense! The Iron Dragon was definetly a tamer version.

"Twisted Sister" is the name of the new rollercoaster at Cedar Point for 2003. Just watch!

The Draining Of the lagoon might be for Project "Helix"

Launching In 3........2........OFF.......WOSH!

The Bat has more problems than just track banking. That baby was a mess. One of the problems (that was fixed quite quickly as I understand it) was the brake fins were on the bottoms of the cars. See this pic at RCDB.

I don't know what any of the other problems were, but I know Arrow Guy could tell us more. Where ya at Brad?

*I resign from the game of life if I have to play with stupidity.
*We're getting screwed in the rear two coasters in a row.

This has nothing to do with the bat but thinking about rides that were good but taken out because of problems does anybody remember drachen fire at bush gardens williamsburg? that in my opinion was a great coaster!
We better move this over to General, and fast. :-)
