Jumbo Jet question

CPcyclone

Was the Jumbo Jet one of a kind? I know there's a ride called City Jet in NJ, that looks similar, but is it the exact same ride?

The Jumbo Jet from Cedar Point was relocated to Mexico City, wasn't it? Still operating today, I believe.

The Jumbo Jet was a standard Schwarzkopf production coaster, it was not a one of a kind ride.

Jumbo Jet was not a one of a kind. There were several clones of the rides, one of which was Mountain Express at SFMM. Now here is were I hit a grey area. I know that your ride is either at La Feria Chapultepec Magico in Mexico or at Beoland in Russia. If it is the one at La Feria Chapultepec Magico than it is actually running less than 50 miles than Mountain Express (which is running someplace inm Mexico City). If it is the one in Russia (which I think it is)than it is opening in May, after being refubished and running for several years in a Massachusetts amausment park. I'm pretty sure you had the one in Russia... I tend to think that the one that went to Mexico was Glissade at BGW.

Oh well. that's enough for my history lesson into Wild Cat Modles. But while on the subject of Anton Schwarzkopf I have a little triva...

Can you name Anton Schwarzkopf's nephew? Here's a clue, he is important to American History.

The only one I can think of is General Schwarzkopf, of Desert Storm fame. Is that the one?

Yup! Storm'n Norman Schwarzkopf is the nephew of Anton.

Jumbo Jet is in Mexico according to "The Great American Rollercoaster" last published in late '99. *** This post was edited by bobthetomato on 4/2/2001. ***

If I recall, he Jumbo Jet is (was) one of Schwartzkopf's more popular models of portable coasters...And I can confirm that the Cedar Point Jumbo Jet is safe and sound in a park in Mexico.

Allen1494: can you document that? That is a really cool fact. I'm just curious to know more.
