July 4th crowd?

So I'm thinking of taking my family to the park for the fireworks on the 4th. I know that nobody can predict the future, but is the park normally very busy that day? We were there over Memorial Day, which I expected to be pretty busy, and it wasn't that way at all - and I had a few conversations with people in the park who told me that's the norm for that day so I was wondering if the 4th of July is the same. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

With the 4th being on a Tuesday they might be a little slower than a typical busy holiday during the day. Usually it is very crowded. Every time we have gone on the 4th getting out of the parking lot is a nightmare, took about an 1 1/2 hrs to get out of the CPS lot.

Eh, I've been there and worked during packed days, I've been there during light days. Memorial Day is always kinda normal to see it somewhat empty (it is the first early season Holiday), but everyone with kids generally has off the 4th and stuff to do.

I went on the Fourth maybe 3-4 years ago, and it was on weeknight. My advice would be to save money and get a twilight pass. The park definitely started clearing out later in the day, as I assume most people did not have the next off, and kids have to go to bed and what not. The park is open until midnight, and if you don't mind staying late you can get some great rides in on a short wait toward the end of the evening.

I went to the beach for fireworks two years ago and it took 2 1/2 hours for us to get out. That was also because there happen to be a wreck off of the causeway which blocked up traffic, and a fire off the other exit. But it was mayhem. Cars were driving over sidewalks and stuff and doing whatever they could to get a better spot in line.
