July 4th

Just wondering if anyone here is going to be at the park on July 4th. And for those who have been in the past, how crowded has it been? thanks!

Cedar Point (first time) - July 4th and 5th

I don't know personally, but I do know that Cedar Point's website tells you that holidays do not result in unusually large crowds, so I'd say it's safe to go. [edit: Just found out that I am going on the fourth also so I too am hoping for short lines and an open TTD ;) ]

Never been there on the 4th so I can't say for sure, but with the 4th being on a Friday this year. It might be a little bit busier than a typical 4th. Just a thought.
I went last year on the 4th and am going again this year. It is more than usually crowded but not to an extreme point.

July 4 is an unusual day where crowds tend to be light for the morning and early afternoon, but really pick up in the evening. Start early and take a break mid-afternoon. If you're going to stay late, stay late. If you leave right after the fireworks show, you'll just sit in your car. Also, because the 4th is on a Friday, expect even more people.

What time is the fireworks show? Does Cedar Point have all the rides running during the fireworks show? And if so, are there more ppl watching the show than riding the rides? So then the lines would be short.....jw....
I'll be there July the 4th. Was going to go on the 4th last year but had to stay at home bacause I was sick. Looking forward to it this year!

Zambelli fireworks produces the show on the 4th. They are one of the top companies. Last year everyone complained about the show, as it was not the best, but that was due to strong winds cutting the show very short. It starts at 10pm, with snoopy's spectacular moving to 11pm. It is the best show to watch in the area on the 4th.

If you haven't seen a Zambelli show, it is well worth the hassle of the crowds. They do a great job.

Last year on the 4th, my daughter and I were watching the show from the grass between the ticket booths and the parking lot, when all of a sudden, flaming debris came raining down on us. Right as the show was starting the heavy winds blew in off the beach and they are pretty lucky there were no fires or anyone got hurt. But even the shortened, fireball-dodging show was good, so I'm sure it would be a great show.

I am going alone, so if anyone wants to meet up with me, set up a meeting place.
