My friend and I read that John was born in Cleveland, and before he was GM of cedar point, he was GM of Dorney park. I wonder where he lives currently today? Does anyone know this?
I believe Sandusky I had him and his wife come in a store I work at and they gave me that zip code to find there rewards. I could be wrong though.

John actually started out in the PR dept at Cedar Point in the mid 1970's ('73 or 74). One of his first duties was overseeing the production of the Annual, which was a bonifide printed yearbook at that time.
I hear he likes pancakes.
He was in marketing a very long time, and I think the last title he had at CP was Director of Marketing before being promoted to the Dorney GM. I think he was there for less than a year total before being called back to run CP.
He's one of my favorite people in the company, and given his personal connections to the park, I think one of the best possible caretakers of it.

Hildebrandt seems like the kind of guy who "gets it" when it comes to what makes the park special. I am hopeful that all the change in the upper tiers of management will allow him to put more of that appreciation back into the park.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
He does live in Sandusky, on the beach. I have seen his house and it is HUGE.

I think you are thinking of Dick kinzel living in his house on the beach.
I just wonder if John lives in cleveland or sandusky :)
One of my favorite things about John is that I always see him out in the park. I hope this part of the corporate culture never changes. One of the best moments for me this season was walking through terror island, getting scared by the screamster on the bungie harness, and walking a few steps forward only to see John, Dick and the rest of the team watching guests get scared. No other park has a corporate culture like cedar fair and I hope that never changes.

That's appropriate for the GM, but not so much for the CEO of a billion dollar company.

If you really want to be creepy, deeds are all public information and can be found on the internet. Erie County keeps their records online in a searchable format.
Great moment;
During our Face your Fear trip this fall, I was speaking with John and Robin (I) outside MF, and both of them, during separate conversations, politely excused themselves for a moment so that they could pick up tiny pieces of trash that guests had left behind.
When your park GM is taking the time to pick up trash and throw it away around the park, you have a good thing going.

All employees are asked to pick up trash if they see it. I always saw higher ups picking up trash on the midway. I agree; it's a wonderful practice.
John Hildebrandt is probably one of my favorite people at Cedar Point. He was always out on the midways and he really kept that connection with not only the guests but the employees too. As a sweep, it meant a lot to hear that I was doing a good job from him.
