Does anyone have any information on the Joe Cool picnic in the park or any other perks offered this year with the membership? Last year my boyfriend and I went all the time to the picnic and really enjoyed it on Sunday afternoons,is this to start again or is it a thing of the past? Just wondering.

Hope this helps some: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/trips/tickets/season_pass_central/articles.cfm?page=Special%20Offers
I don't really know anything about a Joe Cool picnic (this is my first year being a JCC member). Maybe somebody else can help you (and me) with that info.

That was offered last year on Sunday's only, for I believe about 8 weeks. If you ever had the meal at Coastermania, then you would know what to expect. It cost $7.00 and most likely the reason that you don't see it this year is because of the lack of attendance. I took advantage of it once last year and must admit that it seemed odd having this "catered" lunch in the Point Pavillion and being the only one in there. At one point, there was me and two other people eating there.
Some better advertising of this Joe Cool benefit would of helped!
Joe Cool is a total waste of money if you have a season pass. And anyone thinking about buying a season pass woudn't buy Joe Cool, unless they were an idiot. It must be a local thing?
MrScott
And I'm NOT saying "locals" are idiots. That just came out wrong. :(

Joe Cool is worth it if nothing else for the portable parking pass. The occasional "get into the park a little early" is still a nice perk, too.
I guess I'm an idiot in addition to being a local, because I buy it every year. And every year I easily make my $15 back. I rarely use the early entry and I don't have a portable parking pass.
But maybe it's stupid of me to pay $15 for something and get much more than $15 in return. I had always considered that a smart move.
But would it make sense if you were a season pass holder that only visited the CP resorts a couple of times a year? Nope.

MrScott: you've gotten grumpy over the last week or so. As your attorney (with apologies to Hunter S. Thompson) I advise you to visit CP immediately.
I'm also an idiot. Portable parking pass and 10% off at Chuck Wagon make it worthwhile to me. I'm always there for early entry, but I usually stay at Breakers or Express, so I don't really neet JC for that. Although I also get $20 off every Sunday I stay at Breakers. I've more than gotten my money's worth. I love being an idiot!!!! :)

I really don't think it would be that hard to get $15 worth of goods and services (plus early entry) in a couple of visits.
It's not for everyone, but I think it's pretty "idiotic" to make blanket statements based on your own specific situation. Believe it or not, not all 3.5 million guests are from Michigan, visit a few times a year and stay in an on-property resort.
Well,I like the Joe Cool pass perks, we have the parking pass along with the season pass and for us, it is sooo worth it, especially the early ride time, we love it, when real busy we get all our rides in before noon and we head back home if we choose. My boyfreind and I went last year 29 times to CP(we live in New Castle,PA* 2-1/2 hrs away) and with the parking pass, well, you can figure out how much we saved if you really want to:).I also agree with the picnic in the park, though it was not busy, but there were several of us regulars eating there weekly and it was pretty enjoyable,I thought..but if they don't have it, I can understand why, if they do,I just don't want to miss it. This year we were not as fortunate to go as much, I think so far we been there nine times but hope to get there alot more before the hibernation period begins,lol..it is funny how long six months seems during the winter months but how fast it goes during the summer, amazing how time flies when you are having fun.

Not everything is a good deal. Buying something for an extra 15 dollars isn't the worst thing you can do. My dad bought a $20 fish for his saltwater tank only to have it die the next day. Was he upset? Sure…..Did he regret it? Absolutely!..... But is he an idiot for buying the fish only to have it die? NO. Things are almost always made out to sound better than they really are, and humans are always there to be cheated or ripped off. We just can’t anticipate as to what will happen as a result of the action. It happens everywhere (the fast food industry, cell phones, cars, etc, etc).
We learn from our mistakes, it's human nature. And if it's idiotic to do things that sound good only to regret it in the future, then we as humans are complete idiots! :)
I for one am happy that I bought the JCC membership. And if that’s wrong then I don’t want to be right! And if I'm an idiot then so be it....after all I'm not alone.;)

lol Mr Noble, perhaps you are correct. I do appear to have become "grumpy" and DO need to visit the park. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until September.
Grrrrrr.

Don't forget the two for one games in the Gemini games area. My daughter, who loves to play the games, gets her $15 right there, in one day!!!
First trip June 23rd
First, I use mine at Midway market Second, if someone else drives who doesn't have the parking pass, I "pay" for their parking. Gee, 2 trips, and JCC is paid for.
Instead of paying $100.00+ for a hotel room/night, I get in a half hour early, for my low price of $15.
JCC is a great addition for us season pass holders and I am glad CP does things like this for US! It is greatly appreciated.
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
I made more than my $15 dollars back in just one meal (party of 4) at the Breakwater Cafe. Joe Cool is definitely worth it for me.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

My dad is a real big saltwater fanatic. We have a nice 72 bowfront tank in our down stairs living room with some neat fish.
But I won't go into that now.........
