Joe Cool

I am looking to get a season pass next year, but I am looking for more informaiton on Joe Cool.

I understand the basics. Extra time to ride on selected rides.

What rides are generally featured, and what are the extra hours for the Joe Cool??

Cedar Point can not and will not be responsible for any thing lost or dammaged.

Joe Cool Club only opens for MF and WT (sometime Raptor). The other things are at Pogoda, you can get a free mug after making a $20 purchase, in the Gemini Games Area the baseball game (I don't know what it is called) if you buy one game, get the second free, and at some places you can buy one food thing and get a kids meal free. Im not sure about that one, I never used it.

So generally what are the extended hours you get for MF. Also is it only on certain days or certain months.

ERT this year was mornings only and was limited to early season (through June) and late season (mid-august to closing weekend). Next season they are adding nightime ERT.

You can get very detailed information by checking out CP's main website. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/trips/tickets/season_pass_central/articles.cfm?page=Special%20Offers%20

Another feature I especially like. If you are a season passholder and Joe Cool member, you can have your parking pass put onto your ID. So no matter what car you take to CP, parking is free.

I got the joe cool for 2002, and 2003. I like it for two reasons. You get in with the resort guests for a good part of the season, and you can get the parking pass on your ID.

The morning ERT only gets you one or two rides before other guests get into the park. The night ETR would be cool cause you get to go into line after other people can't. But there will be the wait after the lines close though.

I'm kind of interested to see how the night ERT works. Is it going to be different rides at night or the same ones as in the morning? Totally separate days for night and morning ERT or both during the same day?

My guess would be that if they're going to have a morning ERT session and a night one during the same day, that it will be different rides for each session. For example - Millennium Force and "Dragster" in the morning, Magnum and Raptor at night or something like that. An ERT on MF or "Dragster" will most likely not be "E" at all if it starts right at park closing because there will still be all the normal guests still in line. If they did night ERT on Magnum and Raptor for example, it might not be so bad. But then again, most people will probably blow it off in favor of one more ride on MF or "Dragster."

Still many questions to be answered... :)

The Joe Cool add on is not worth the money IMO. With the addition of resorts guests allowed in for morning ERT one or two rides a couple of times a year is not worth the $15 it costs. The rest of the "perks" are worthless. If I want lots of rides with little waits I just go early in the year or Friday or Saturdays during Halloweekends.

I do tend to agree that the rest of the perks outside of ERT are pretty much worthless, and even then, I really didn't take enough advantage to make it worth it.

Besides opening day, I think the "ERT" wasn't that great. A 40 minute wait for MF isn't what I would call "Exclusive." Now on Fridays and Sundays this time of year you can get in a half hour early and get some good rides but guess what? The park was open a half hour early last year this same time of year. Plus on those days the whole time is pretty much ERT anyway.

To me it would make more sense to do it like it was in 2001. Just going to one of those was worth it. Have an hour of ERT for JCC every couple weeks on un-crowded days like Sunday outside of the resort people. A thousand people boost in attendance on those days I think would help.

Well, besides the "ERT" I think I got more then my $15 worth in food discounts.

I agree, Joe. In 2001 I only went to one ERT session. This year, I've been to six. However, I got more rides on MF and Raptor at that one ERT session in 2001 than I have in all six sessions this year. I think that says a lot about the "exclusiveness".

When I purchased Joe Cool last year, I was told that the JCC was the only way to get parking on the pass instead of on the windshield of your vehicle. That makes it more than worth it, considering the price for parking, if you drive in with a group, and someone in the party has parking on their pass, you can still get in without paying.

I am not an early bird, so did not make it to ERT even once this year, but I buy at least 2 new cars a year which previously ended up in purchasing a new sticker, or I will sometimes take fleet vehicles to CP and paying parking, or ride down with friends who do not have parking passes. I would say JCC definately paid for itself many times over.

We definitely saved on the food discount. We ate at Midway Market on all but our last trip.

Same with parking. Considering we have three vehicles (well, one is not running at the moment), it's nice to be able to flash the pass instead of having a sticker for each car.

I use Joe Cool mainly for the parking permit on the pass instead of the windshield. The alone makes added cost worthwhile for me.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

Here is a question: Do they also allow you to enter for ERT from the Soak City entrance, or only the Main gate?

I own you!
