Jeff, How do you do it?

The Web cam thread was deleted by whoever started it... not me.

And it's not just a few sentences we're generally dealing with, it's hundreds in some cases. I don't care if it's popular, because if I find it annoying or stupid, I'm not going to continue spending money on serving it.

This isn't a business, and popularity is hardly my chief desire.

You're the boss but if everybody ran their businesses ignoring what was popular, there would be a lot of bankruptcy and a lot of boredom.

Which brings up another topic....Jeff, why did you close my thread? Jeff, why did you close my thread? Jeff, why did you close my thread? Jeff, why did you close my thread? My thread was so kewl. I had something to talk about and everything and people were like posting and using my name and like talking to me and I felt like popular and stuff and then you closed it down. And now I'm gonna post a new thread called Waah waah wah and everybody's gonna read it and say yeah that's right you suck and everybody's gonna leave and you're gonna be cryin and the internet people are gonna come and take all the furniture out of your house and throw you out in the street and you're gonna be all homeless pushin a shopping cart with your PC in it because you deleted my thread. So there.

I might have left out a few other 'popular' topics (Hitler, you big boss-me little worm and volumes of sexual preference references) but I think I'll stop here 'cuz I feel a pancake-related question coming on and God only knows that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

But this forum is strictly for those who like pancakes. Begone!

On second thought, pancakes topped with olives are permissable. You may stay--but I'm keeping an eye on you.

I know that this site is welcome to everyone, therefor it is free. But I think it would be a good idea to make new subscribers pay. I don't think anyone is going to pay just to come in here and make some dumb remarks or screw with us, so if they had to pay you would know that they were a TRUE CP fan, and maybe the site wouldn't have so many "stupid posts". Just an idea...

CP is the best!! I will never stop loving it. You gotta, you wanna, you have to hold on Cedar Point HOLD ON!!! :) :) :)

Yea, but then the site would loose visitors and that would be bad obviously. So for now we'll have to deal with it, Unless we get more moderators.

What's a 'true CP fan?' Someone who oohs and aahs over everything CP chooses to do?

In the real world, some of CP's biggest fans are also its harshest critics. Many people who like CP just fine might like another park or a certain feature of another park a little more. So what?

It's a discussion board, not a propaganda board. People are free to think how they wanna--as long as they are able to articulate the reasons why they feel that way. That's what it's all about...

Or he'll just let you know how sad you are. :-) Sorry, when I saw the pictures that was on your site and saw that journal entry, just yikes. I know some of the posts on here have been pretty loopy. But to call people sad for hitting reload on their web browser on website. I mean I could imagine if this was something pretty hush-hush that you didn't tell any body about, but you posted about how you were going to have a webcam up on that day during the party. I'll admit it is impressive way to put down people. Like a band who puts out a CD and promotes it, but if a bunch of people buy it calling them posers for it. :-)

"One of the highlights of the night came from making fun of some of the Cedar Point geeks that sit in front of their computers all damn day everyday speculating about what the new ride will or will not be. Just to illustrate how sad the whole thing is, more than 8,000 hits were made to that camera that night alone. Pretty f****** sad, eh?"

I think the Newbie Boom has passed for now. There is definatly alot less people opening new accounts now.

Do you think it's a normal thing Robby? Do you think it's healthy that people sit in front of their computers at length and lack human contact?

My little social experiment proved exactly what I feared... the next generation is in a lot of trouble.

If a whole group of people was watching me for long periods after telling them about it, I would enjoy it a bit. I'd be curious about why, but then again if I was egging them on a bit with posing in front of the camera and whatnot I wouldn't be too surprised. Would it have been any different if those people were outside of the house looking at a bird, or how about if they were "Train Spotting?" for an extreme example.

The next generation is doomed in some ways. Aren't they all? They never have it as good compared to the last ones. But yet they seem to be a bit happy anyways with these new fangled webcams and watching other things besides birds. If someone wants to see a webcam if they're on the net then hell thats great. Whats 10 minutes out of 24 hours in a day? Or even 4 hours, as long as they still go to work and are able to function that's wonderful. What ever gets them through the night. I wouldn't worry about the pin prick of the population who saw your webcam. We have a bit more problems on our hands then what people do at home on the internet one day.

It might not be normal to watch a webcam, but just think Jeff you kept some kid off the streets, you might of kept a kid from running with the bad crowd. You know, those people who want to sneak in and take up close pictures of coaster track at a certain park. Don't look at it as a down fall of youth, look at it as helping the youth.

I do see your point and you maybe right, but I'm truly a "Centrist" sometimes. I like the middle road. See both sides

I'm not so sure that staring at a web cam is all that much more damning than staring at a television. Culturally, this country has been full of drooling shut-ins since Ozzie and Harriet were the Next Big Thing.

Then again, I'm just a bitter member of the Ivory Tower Brigade.

How do you know it is the next generation that is sitting watching the webcam? Perhaps it is the previous generation.
Just to clearify things when I said 'true CP fan', what I meant was...maybe we wouldn't have so many people subscribing to the site just to make a comment or two to see us get p***ed off. Someone a few posts back made a remark about viewers subcribing to the site, only to make a 'stupid' comment, and then never post again or delete their sn. A 'true CP fan' would not do so. I also know that this would create less viewers, but I thought that population wasn't the point of the site? Again it was just an idea.
