It’s really good to see that he’s making an effort to engage the locals to be part of the CP seasonal team. Hopefully the park relaxes their requirements to make the positions more attractive to locals to be able to take advantage of these positions and help the park fill them.

I think Jason and his team know that they need to be better in a lot of areas this season. I found it to be an interesting read.

Most interesting quote to me from the piece: "By the way, your schedule is flexible, and we will create shifts and schedule hours that work for you."

I think Halloweekends really opened their eyes even more to how staffing effectively affects overall business. If they had more local seasonal help, a lot of the processes that led to long lines would've been smoother.

If they’d let me work there one day a week id probably do it.

Having a small number of seasonal positions available for those who may wish to work a couple days a week may help them out in certain areas for sure, especially in May and October. While the cost of onboarding and scheduling more people working fewer hours may be a bit higher, having folks to depend on coming in for staggered shifts and willing to come work a six or eight hour day on a busy Halloweekends Saturday is better than not having folks to commit to mandatory 14 hour O-C shifts on all three days of the weekend.

Let’s just hope that CPs definition of ‘flexible’ is somewhere in the same universe as the rest of the planet.

My dad was scheduled to work one day O-C (Wednesday) a week in First Aid as an EMT/Fire Fighter. He would then sign up for available First Aid and Fire Office shifts that he could cover. That was in the early 2000's.

Now, now. A few of the apologists here clearly explained that the dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens (you get the idea) of reports of low staffing was really the work of a lone anti-Cedar Point zealot, or whatever that excuse was...LOL
