Whenever CP or any park removes a ride they are taking down someone's favorite ride. I know Demon Drop was never one of my favorites and personally it doesn't bother me that it's leaving but I can sympathize with fans of the ride as some of my favorites have been removed other the years. At least Demon Drop fans know what is going and can go take some last rides. Maybe CP can do what Six Flags Over Georgia did with Great Gasp and have a retirement celebration.
Also keep in mind that it will be running somewhere and I know CP is everyone's favorite park but it might give you a chance to go to a new park and get some new coaster credits.
One thing about this is it another reminder that I am getting old. Demon Drop opened the sam month I graduated from high school.
I don't miss Schwabinchen. It's the classic rides that still have a bit of popularty left that are sad. And was a new topic really needed for this.

Now you guys, there is a slim chance DD might stay.
Bryan Edwards said: If we can sell it, we will sell. If not, we will keep it.
So don't say goodbye just yet.

True... but he also said "officially no roller coaster is for sale", so the "we will keep it" could mean they will keep it, just in storage.
Or it could mean that it stays where it is....:)
When he said "officially no roller coaster is for sale", he was probably just answering the questions that people were asking.
Plus, what would him saying that have anything to do with DD going into "storage"? Those sentences were said at different times so they have nothing to do with each other.

Umm no I'm just saying he said they would keep the ride, which means they could keep it but in storage.
The two different things, while said at different times is called comparsion... I'm saying in the past he said no roller coasters were for sale, but he didn't said no rides were for sale... and maybe here he is saying they will keep the ride if no one buys it but he never said they would keep it in operation. If no one buys the ride there is no law saying the park can't remove the ride and put it in storage.
Which also means they could dismantle the ride and scatter it's peices across the park for display.
Cedar Point might take it down for storage, or leave it up for operation. I would think they'd leave it up if no one bought it, then if no one bought it after the following season, then they would leave it up the proceeding year. However, if there were plans for expansion, they [CP] would probably take it [DD] down after this, or the next season; whenever the expansion was to take place.
