Its never that crowded on Sunday but?

Yeah i know the crowd questions are a big no around here and i already know Sunday halloweekends are pretty uncrowded from past visits but i was wondering if that changes the last Sunday since it is the last day of the year. I was planning on going with my brother Sunday but this was a determaning factor. How are last Sundays with crowds. Same as any other Sunday or much more crowded cause its the last day of the year.

I'm guessing it won't be bad. I'll be there Sunday as well. I went on closing day back in 2004 which was also Halloween, a Sunday, and the final day of the season. If I remember, it wasn't too bad. Expecting more of the same this time.

Also whats the coldest temperatures rides can operate on? The high is only suppose to be 50 and low 39. Will most of the big rides be able to be operated?

With Raptor anyway, temperature isnt so much a factor as the wind is. But as for temperature, with the wheels being cold in the morning it does force them to be sure they have more than 1/2 full trains for the test runs. During regular hours if its really cold and windy they wont send out any trains unless they are at least 1/2 full.

I honestly cant remember any of the bigger rides ever being closed due to the temperature...anyone else?

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I was there last night, and the crowds were noticeably thinner than the other two Halloweekends Fridays I attended this year, so I'd imagine that Sunday shouldn't be too bad if it follows that trend.

Remember that as a rule, the park is only kept open to the degree that it can be profitable. With that in mind, the closing weekend is usually on the fringe of attendance. It's been a busier fall than usual, but in the past, closing days feel like they should be the closing day for a reason, you know?

I say go.

A few years ago at kings island, a few of the coasters were not operating part of the day due to the tempature.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Which ones? Back in 2006, I can remember riding Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster in temperatures around 25ºF.

I can say that I have ridden Mille in the snow. We came off and our eyebrows were frozen. That was probably the worst trip to CP ever.

Last night ended with a pretty chilly front-row ride on Maverick. It was a lot of fun as usual, but the wind was whipping the collar of my coat against my neck, and I nearly lost my sock hat. After that we agreed that, even though there was time to get in another line (and all were pretty short), it was truly the end of the season and time to go home.

We rode all coasters except Dragster and Blue Streak and waited less than 15 minutes for all of them. Most were walkons. All four haunted houses were about 10 minute or less waits. It was a good closing day, too bad we weren't able to stay to the very end because my friend had to work midnights tonight.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

It was definitely a good end to the season. They even had the access gate for Millennium Force open for a little bit since crowds were so low.

Bet the line for happy jack's was chilly....

One time this october me and my friend were in line with two others and they had on ponchos because it was raining all day, so this hurricane-like rain blows in and mists the whole line. so they use their ponchos to shield everyone, including us, like a tent from the rain! :)

Sunday was a great day for riding. We entered at the start of ERT and left early to get home for trick or treat. We still managed to get on more rides than we ever did on any 12-13 hour stay at CP. Some multiple times. We worked our way back to Maverick during ERT and then hit everything in the back before working our way to the front. Some rides let us stay on for rerides. Dragster was the only ride we encountered any kind of line at all. Almost all the flats were walk on, coasters only a few minute wait. Haunted houses had very short waits. The line at Happy Jacks probably never got long enough for people to get cold.

It was a great way to end the season. We got to ride almost everything we wanted one last time.
