I just found out that Don Miears, Cedar Points executive Vice President and General Manager will be retiring at the end of the year. My family and I are really saddened at his leaving. Don was a people person. Every time we would go into the park you could see Don mingling with park guests, and stopping to talk and asking how our day was and how everything is going at the park. Don you will be sorely missed by us. And my family and I want to wish you the best in your retirement and continued good health.......
OH NO! where did u here this :,(

The DM years were indeed good ones. Now, however, welcome the dawn of a new era. Will WOF's loss be CP's gain?
Interesting... I've been hearing this for a couple of weeks now, only for different reasons. Any bets on who will replace him?

Jeff asks "Any bets on who will replace him?"
See my above post for my educated guess
Carousel Man,
That would have been my first guess, too. Someone had told me that he still owns his home in Sandusky.

I think Keller is most likely too, but John Albino wouldn't be a suprise either.
I heard it is the Guy from WOF Smith i believe is his name..alot of people are talking coming back just to work with him. they say he is a fun guy to work for..that what i heard
The "Smith" you are thinking of is most likely Daryl Smith who was at CP.. then Dorney.. the CP and now owns his own park. Dan Keller is from WOF.
and as for who I think with replace Mr. Miears... I think it's going to be the Lemon Chill guy!
Psst... it's been in the news section for awhile...

Uh, Jeff, I hate to point this out in public, but the last sentence of that news article is missing a verb...

I use to work for John Albino for 5 seasons at CP, he is a very stern, but fair man to work with! Let me tell you, John would not be afraid to tell you if something was wrong! He would do an excellent job!!!

Why exactly did you feel the need to bring up a four and a half year old topic?
He just won the post digger nomination for 2005 and the most pointless post for 2005 nomination!
