Its all about the Benjamins!

I think they are going to wait til the offseason when the Cedar Fair stock slips a bit with nothing going on in the 4th and 1st quarters. Then once they announce the ride it will keep the stock steady through out the offseason when they only have one park open.

but cedar fair does do business during those months the have the camp snoopy in the mall of america that is still open and knotts is still open yes they will do a reduced business for those quarters but if you think about it quarters 2 and 3 more than make up for quarters 4 and 1
Maybe so, but the stock will enjoy a boost, or at least remain steady, when they hear of this giant coaster.

Are you assuming that stock holders don't know that Cedar Point is building a new coaster?

The stock doesn't move that much in the off season. I had to sell mine a while back, because I was broke and needed the money. During the winter, I waited for the price to go down to buy back in, but it never did. It just didn't grow quite as fast. Obviously it has ups and downs, though. And another thing, one new coaster at CP doesn't make a huge dent in the price. If anything, the price levels out when such a huge capital investment is announced.

(Can you tell I used to be a stock broker?)
