Items in Station

I thought I saw this earlier but I couldnt seem to find it. I know you can't leave an item in the station on any rides at the point (or at least mf and ttd) and I just have one question, are you allowed to wear a fanny pack that is strapped on tight around your waist on these rides? I kinda doubt they will let you but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance!

Cedar Point (first time) - July 1st and 2nd

They usually make you take them off and put them in a locker.. that is what I usually see.

------------------
TTD=5. MF=77. Raptor 100+ Magnum. 250+ lost count.

I see no reason why you can't wear a fanny pack on the ride. They are much better from keeping things from falling out than pockets are...I know from experience.

The Matrix: Reloaded!

You can read Cedar Point's loose atricles policy here:

I wore a fannypack last year on all the rides with no problem. I don't see why TTD would be different.

I usually carry around a back pack with me when i go to an amusment park for water bottles and stuff like that, so from the sounds of it i would have to put this in a locker and i can't leave it in the station, right? And is this locker free, or is more of my money getting sucked up.

The only thing "free" at CP is water.

Be prepared for that and you'll be OK.

Disney is the only park I know of with free "smart" lockers. But six flags magic mountain's $.50 fee is a very good deal for the excellent peace of mind.
Both times that I rode TTD I wore a fannypack, and no-one hassled me. Actually, the only ride I have taken it off for is Wicked Twister, and there's storage on the station for that.

For those 16 extreme seconds, it was worth the wait....

I've always worn my fanny pack while at CP. Nobody has ever said a word, as long as I could get the restraints fastened and the lapbars down. I just scoot the fanny pack to one side or the other as needed.

Awww, bad day? Take a different perspective on things. Try upside down, a barrel roll, a cobra roll or a corkscrew. Life can't be all that bad when your feet are over your head!

Note that if something isn't irreplaceable or particularly valuable, you can often leave it in an out-of-the-way place without worry. For example, we leave our umbrella strollers (for the kids) in corners of the park all the time, and they are always there when we get back. We would use a locker (and often rent one for other things like cameras, etc.) but strollers do not fit. Since the strollers are <$20 to replace, we don't worry much about losing them. The only real risk is the chance that I have to carry an exhuasted, 30lb 2 year back to the car.

Thanks for posting the site for the loose article policy. I read the camera policy, and I CAN bring my camcorder in line of Millennium Force, provided another non-rider holds it for me while I ride. This is sooo great! This will help me a lot for my Senior Project!

I think "a non-rider" means "someone not in line." Furthermore, if I remember correctly, you cannot film things from the queues, but I can't find the correct gospel and verse to quote...

This is not totally on subject, yet I'm going to ask it here. My devotion group is going to the park in a few weeks, and there is like one person who cannot ride anything. They want to go to hang out and take pictures. Are there "chicken shoots" or what not on TTD so that they can hang out with us while in line and then exit easily when we board? I'd really hate for the person to be stuck outside the line alone for three hours or so.
forcedude04... I don't see why someone just can't walk through the train when loading and exit down the exit ramp. Only if walking through the train (down & up) would be a problem would they not be able to get out. If they are in a wheelchair, I'm not sure it's possible to wait in line. Don't know how they would get out at the end. Hope this helps.

Also, I've worn my fanny pack on all the rides (including TTD last Thursday) and never had a problem.

In regards to a camcorder in line, I do belive that it is allowed, as long as you can secure it durring the ride (such as in a pocket, not shooting your own POV). While I was there on the second Saturday that the park was open, I shoot video and took pictures while in line for TTD and Mantis. While in the line for TTD, a park sweep and a ride op was constantly walking through the line. Both of them offered to take a picture and some video of the ride and myself. They also would stop and wait for me to finish shooting before walking in-front of me. Then once in the sation, I asked another ride op if I could flim in the sation while waiting for the front row. She didn't know so she went and asked the op in the control booth (I assume that she was asking a TL) if I could. She came back a few min. later and said that it was allowed, but as-soon-as it was my turn to ride I MUST put the camera completly away in my pocket.

Unless it's in a pocket, or designed to be strapped on to you (fanny pack) it's gotta go in a locker. It's black and white... I don't know why I get called bad names for enforcing it ;)

Awwwww man, I think I got dain bramage!

Ahh yes the epitome of a tourist...the fanny pack filled with the park map, the odorous sun block, some loose change, and an extra set of calf high tube socks...:) hehe but to answer ur question, you can hide it under your shirt if it happens to be that bulky. Otherwise they'll let u go
Thanks Coaster Mom! It's good to know that the stations are connected. She can cross through because she cannot ride because she is pregnant.
The key is that whatever bag you carry has to be fastened around the waist. Shoulder bags, purses, and backpacks don't cut it for some reason, but a belt-bag is OK. I keep a shoulder strap on my ****** bag so that if the belt should happen to fail, the bag still won't go anywhere (I had a catastrophic buckle failure on an older bag during a coaster ride.). I have had to demonstrate to entrance hosts and platform attendants that if I remove the shoulder strap, the ****** bag still doesn't go anywhere.

As for image recording equipment, the rule seems to be unevenly applied. Technically, the requirement is that you can carry it if you can secure it; if you can't secure it, you have to leave it behind; as long as you're not on the ride, you can make use of it. Unfortunately, the language used for the policy was chosen back when video cameras weighed on average about fourteen pounds and were most readily carried in a suitcase...so the language includes a specific reference to video cameras lumped in with bulky stuff. Most Ops people recognize this, and don't care about your video camera so long as it disappears before you board the ride. Occasionally...less now than in years past, actually...you get someone who is a bit more anal-retentive about it, but the last time that happened to me was a number of years ago.
