Cedar Point, The Roller Coast!!

They just physically pushed a train from load back to unload. Thats alot of maintenance guys on one dock. It was one min halfway between load an unload, then the next min it was being pushed back, then the next min they're all standing around looking at it....
its running again, first time ive seen the lights work.... park seems empty except TTD so there must be one hell of a line

they seem to be firing them off about 45-50 seconds apart..... pretty sweet, lets just hope it stays running.... and congrats to CP for working their asses off to get it running.

uh oh, right when i said the above, the lights went, but i did not see any train going up or down, and havent seen any for a couple minutes now :( lets just hope its just the webcam

They had to manually push the trains a few times today. When I was there it was like the kicker wheels from unload to load could not handle the weight or didn't want to move the train. So, while the kickers were working the maintenance guys had to give it a push start. The ride operation was up and down from around 8 pm on through the night. I stood in the station for a good 45 minutes while they were working out some bugs.

i kinda think it broke again, no trains for the past few minutes, and a whole crap load of people are leaving

Looks like its empty.
Figures after all the hydraulic problems they fixed, it'd be the kicker wheels causing all the problems. Hopefully it is a quick fix. The web site still says it is going to be down.

I got a ride in tonight. I used my freeway pass I had, yet ended up waiting an hour still. We didnt even wait for the front, it was just the delays they had. A couple of times they would launch it but it would just quit right away and didnt even make it past the grandstands, then a guy who looked swedish (im guessing he was from Intamin) and a few other guys went to were the sled hooks on to the train. This happened at least 2 times tonight that I know of. Each time it would be like 15 minutes and they would most likely having it running by then. We rode about 12:10 and let me tell you a night ride on Dragster is like nothing else I have ever expirenced. Just looking over at the park and all the lights they had. It was tremendous. By the way I would just like to compliment Cedar Point and whoever else helped with this years fireworks. They were spectacular and I think a must see every year. I loved watching them. Hats off to CP. :)

I also got a ride in tonight after a 3 hour wait with one hour of it being downtime. Standing in line not knowing what was going on was rough, but once I got into the station I started to notice some things. The three times(while I was waiting) that the train got launched and stopped before the grandstands all seemed to be caused by the trains not clearing the blocks. I must have heard "clear the block..." like 5-6 times. Thats when they started to push the trains manually. It was definatly interesting to watch what was going on. The ride seems to be running great bit I think they have to do some tweeking with the block system and figure out why the kickerwheels wouldnt move the trains backwards through the station turnaround.

What exactly does a "swedish" person look like? Besides, Intamin is based in Switzerland.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

Well, you could just tell he wasn't american. And I didn't know if he was swedish or whatever, he just looked of a foreign nationality. We could hear him talk and he had an accent also. I was just trying to state in some way I thought he was with Intamin.

Why is'nt TTd running today ?

My guess is weather related. The status page has been updated :)

Looks like some crappy weather and the cleveland cam looks a little...err...damp

by the way if your from Switzerland, your swiss!
At about 1:30am they made us leave the line. Every time they launched a couple of trains something would go wrong. Then they would have to move them all back, unload them, reset all the blocks, then try again. I had waited since 11:30. I was 4 trains away from getting on. It was really sad the way some of the people acted when the supervisor came up there and told us we had to leave. At the time the ramp and station were full. There were some very ticked off people. Some yelling, screaming, swearing at security and the supervisor. Very sad. He summed it all up by saying "it wasn't even supposed to open today"

It didn't bother me too much, maybe because I had ridden it once already during the evening. I feel bad for the people who had waited 4 hrs, the people behind us were from Delaware, and I feel bad for the ops, security and the supervisor who had to put up with the a-holes. They walked out the queue throwing and kicking garbage cans etc. They did give us free-way passes which was enough for me.

Minor update: RCDB (Roller Coaster Database) has listed TTD as SBNO. But we know that to be wrong, due to the fact that it's up and running now.
I was there this morning and saw a few test runs. I saw the yellow train roll-back, it was the first train up over the hill. I was excited to see a roll-back :) Anyways, the trains after that were going over the top, just barely in some instances. Everytime it would go over, everyone waiting in line would clap. The speedometer on the hydroylic building was reading 127 today, where as last time I saw it operating it was reading 118. I'm glad it's up and I hope it stays up! I really get sick of people asking for discounts because they drove X amount of hours to ride Dragster and it's down. ;)
