Well, the idea of the "Fast Pass" has gone from the amusement park to the Holy See. According to the Chicago Tribune (so you don't think I'm making this up), this in response to the 40 million religious pilgrims expected to visit Rome and the Vatican during the Papal Jubilee Year of 2000.
To keep things moving along, plastic "Pilgrim Cards" are given visitors to control admissions to services, papal audiences, and other crowded religious sites. (Actually, this is very good idea, because the lines at the Basillica probably have no D.J.s.)
Yes, I know the name of the ride is "Millennium Force", but my topic line got edited at the GTTP end. All other information remains intact. No big problem.
This is a good idea. When I was at the Vatican when I was around nine, the Pope was speaking from his balcony. We then went into the actual cathedral. It took forever to get in, and once we were, the place was so packed that you felt like you were being herded like cattle. Being nine and shorter than most of the people there, I couldn't breath very well or see much. It was not a fun experience, although I still think that it is cool that I have been there.
