Is the yellow train on MF the "bad one"?

And that looks like lime green to me. ;)

Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast

I think the proper term is 'moly green' . . .

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

There was no green train for MF, they would have construction pics of it on the site, and all those pics are with the three ones it has now.

The yellow train got stuck from a mechanical breakdown on the one Halloweekends night when I was there. Me and my friend were in the station and there was a loud "thump!" sound. Sure enough, the train was stopped on the hill with the back half still in the station track. We did get to ride it after about 5 empty train cycles from the other trains :)

They had to take all the pictures of the green one off

Of course there was a green train. It flew off into Lake Erie during testing because the heartline inversion at the bottom of the first drop was too intense. They had to take that out and later installed it on Maverick. To bad it didn't work there either.

If you dont believe the story of the green train, then next time you are at the park be sure to check out the MF track you are at the park because two pieces of evidence for it are hiding in plain sight. The first and less obvious one is that right before and right after the speed bump by the ramp you will notice two pieces of track that have a steel plate jutting from both horizontal sides, that was where the emergency breaks were going to be located in order for MF to be able to run with four trains. The idea was that in an emergency the breaks would be activated slowing the train before the bunny hop and after so that it would valley between the speed bump and the last overbanked curve. A crane (like on the CCMT) was then planed to be installed to take that train over the banked turn afterwards.

The second proof is how the lift always manages to accelerate towards the top of the lift to 30mph, the orginal plan was to ratchet up riders at about the same speed as a normal lift hill allowing the trains below to move down a block and a coaster to complete the circuit then just in time for the drop accelerate riders to 30mph as they start cresting.

^? Well, I would need more proof than that to be honestly SURE that MF really had a green train. But I know it did not have one, you can try to work your way around it by saying stuff about braking and lifts and all. It Tony said above it's not true, than it's not. If it was, Tony would probably join in with this thread about MF's train.

^No he said it was not exactly true, the car was not lime green it was a darker green.

Besides, do you really think a park would want their PR person talking about something like this?

And Tony is 100% right all the time, either.

I have some pictures of the green train. Honestly though after the incident with the government and my Roswell UFO photos, I don't think I want to share them.

I think what you meant to say here is that, Tony always knows what he is talking about, but some individuals' obsessive speculation and needless reading-into of the things he says, are usually 100% incorrect.

Thanks John for the clear up. :) Besides the fact that we "grayed out", the ride itself seemed more intense. It may not be a "bad" train. Just not as smooth as the other trains. That is just my personal opinion though. CPboy, you will have to ride it yourself and compare it with the other color trains to make your own opinion on it.

As for the mysterious green trains, what happened to them? During testing did they crash? Or is this another Cedar Point myth in which the truth will never be revealed? ;)

The brake mounts by the bunny hop at the end of the ride are assumed to be there in case the train speed was greater than calculated and the speed needed to be trimed.

Jesz - I guess what I was trying to point out is that a rougher ride would also be a slower ride. "Greying out" is caused by positive g-forces pulling blood away from your head. This could only be achieved if the train were moving faster through the bottom of the hill. To do that, it would have to NOT be wasting energy on roughness. Each bounce dissipates energy that could otherwise be used as speed.

Although, each "bounce" also creates impulsive forces, which if directed downward have the potential to increase the likelihood of graying out. Of course, I'm not sure if those impulses would be sustained long enough to influence blood flow to any measurable degree. Just sayin'. :)

I've found graying out at the bottom of the drop usually has to do with how you breathe and how tense you are. If you inhale during the drop and your body is more tense, you are less likely to gray out than if you exhale and are relaxed.

Oh, ok John I get what you are saying now. I think a big factor was the heat. We were very hot and very hungry. I think when I first posted it, Josh M said something about heat and hunger playing a part in it. So next time I will be sure to be refreshed before I ride MF.

I know that I rode all three trains and I like the blue one! I guess its because it was the one that I took my first rides with! I know that I like the way it looks on the track. The otheres look cool too!
