IS the Lazy River open Yet?

IS Calypso Creek or whatever the lazy river called open yet? Someone posted a trip report earlier this seasaon on the net, and it wasnt open yet.

The Lazy River sure is open! Been open every time I have been there this year - unlike last year.

There are a few changes this year though - no double tubes (depending on who you talk to or what lifeguard sees you) and no going through without an inner tube.

Now if they would only fix the water curtain thing after the first bridge!

If it needs to be fixed, Cedar Fair will fix it. Relax.

Ha! How can you say that? Sure Cedar Fair is better about fixing things than Six Flags, but they don't fix everything. Just look at Disaster Transport for example. It all just depends on priority and cost.

While I'm sure cost is important, my expierence is that CF makes things right for it's guests.

DT is another story. It is not even in the same book.

What extended downtime has DT had?

Ride downtime? None, that I know of. Appeal waiting in the que? Neglect of themeing has totally ruined the original DT expierence.

Very disapointing.

Dismantle the thing, re-theme it with a Snoopy theme, and move it to MiAdv.

Well, I generally consider myself an "insider" in the industry but when it came to my first ride on Dragster two weeks ago I was just an average guest like everyone else.

If there HAD been anything in the line for me to look at...I wouldn't have. I couldn't take my eyes off the ride. I suppose some tv's couldn't have hurt but I probably would not have paid attention to them anyway.

I know what the original trains looked like with the tires and so forth but when I looked at them while on the platform it completely slipped my mind that they had been there and were now not. I was just concentrating on keeping myself calm.

When I got on the train and stared down that long track my mind didn't race with a bunch of what it's. "Gee, why was that line so boring? This would be so much more fun if there were big tires behind me!"

And, when I think back on my one and only ride on Dragster the only thing I can remember is the speed and the crushing weight on my chest. I wish I had taken a moment to look out over the park when we crested the hill but I didn't even do that.

Frankly, that ride didn't need any type of theme. It is what it is; the tallest and fastest coaster on the planet.

Wow - this thread really got off topic! IMO I do not think CF has any intention of fixing some of the theming that no longer works on the lazy river. Come on CF - SURPRISE ME!

Here are a couple things I can think of that CF can fix:

1.) TTD to run on a more consistent basis.

2.) The ridiculous seat belt thing on MF (BTW - I have no problem riding it).

When they fix this then I will relax.

Obviously, Cedar Point is doing everything it can do with the assistance of the manufacturer to make TTD more reliable. Cedar Fair didn't design the ride.

And, Cedar Point has very little control over "the seat belt thing."

This has northing to do with this post, but some one was talking about Dt. Tell me some thing How can it be down to weather. That made my day. It was rain and all the ride were down so we want to ride that and they told us it wa down to weather ?
The building that Disaster Transport is in is far from waterproof. Water can pool in the "track" of the ride (trough maybe) causing them to shut down.

Dont you fide that funny i mean it indoors. tear it down build it over then build a new ride

That's a great idea, but don't move it to MiAdv! I was at Kennywood on Monday and rode Garfield's Nightmare (Old Mill). While I wasn't really impressed with the "overhaul" , it should be an inspiration for DT. They should totally gut the whole space voyage theme (or what's left of it) and go for Snoopy, or something totally new and different. ;)

Can I get a lifetime pass from Cedar Fair for a "great idea"?

I do like the idea of moving DT to MiAdv. They've got the room for it (although I'd love to see the room used to build a B&M invert in the 200 foot range). I would like to see a rebuild of Corkscrew, it could just use a little more than a hill, screw, done.

John

I am all for building new rides at MiAdv! The room is there, and so is the population base.
Population base?? Er...maybe. That park is small and while the room is there, I don't see massive capital spending there in the future.
