Is the laser show getting old?

Is sure is if you work there but once a year it is entertaining. I wish they would update the Patriotic segment. Keep "God Bless the U.S.A." but maybe add some other songs or maybe more of Neil Diamond's "America".

Yes. I only heard the thing 39034 times.

It only gets old if you go alot. People that go once a year don't notice.

101 on Magnum and counting...

First time okay,

Second time getting old,

Third time don't even pay attention.

After going relatively unchanged for, what, six years? It's old.

They do slightly change it every year, but they still keep the base of it. If you have to work it, some parts get annoying real quick. Others, you learn to love! I'll never get tired of the Ohio part!

I say it needs more Big fireworks and ground shakers, make it more a Firework/lazershow. The programing of music to keep it current and laser effects only takes mere mintues to load in to a show computer. The laser show at CP is not cutting edge technology. Maybe they should bring some of the effects from GL(if six flags didnt take um) and add them to the show.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Actually, I think it took a change for the worse this year. I didn't really mind the repetition - we still watched at least once a summer. But I think it took a step back last season. The show started out slow and didn't feel like it had any energy until at least 10 minutes in.

Once was okay... anymore than that - yawn! Anymore I usually only see what I can see from the MF queue.

The show is in dire need of a rehab/makeover - they need to do something completely different. Heck it would be cool to turn it into a montage or slideshow of video, scenes, photos, historical shots, old photos from the park and maybe even timelapsed construction footage of various rides. Of course that would probably only interest us CP nuts.

Sounds good to me!

The show still get a huge crowd everynight all summer long, so while it may be boring to those of us that visit the park multiple, multiple times a year, for the average guest who goes once a season its great. While I do think its time for an updated version, i wouldnt expect anything major, because right now its seems to be doing well, considering how many people watch it.

No, its really not good for the once a year guest. With not changing it I've seen just about the same show five times.

yes it does kinda get Old. I saw it everynight of the 2003 season and it got old. But Stone Mountain Productions needs to just do a whole update on the whole show including the lighting around the midway. But what the Heck

I stop by and see it a few times during the year and every time I see it, it gets better and better. Most of you are going to think I'm stupid for saying that, but I like the laser show.

For me, the real attraction to the show is how much the crowd gets involved. (Sort of like a concert!) However, with the lack of significant change, the crowd has become increasingly passive the past three years

I have mixed feelings. Personally, I think the show itself is sort of lame. But, whatever floats your boat. I resent it for the huge screen that ruined a very nice view down that section of the midway. On the other hand, it concentrates huge numbers of people in one spot, and everyone who is watching the laser show isn't in line in front of me for coasters that stay open, like the Magnum! Great for those night ride walk-ons! But, it can be a nightmare if you are actually trying to walk, say, from the Frontier Trail to the Pagoda Gift Shop at that time of night.

I am with the once a year crowd. I also would like to see a brand new show.

Perhaps a combo Live E/peanuts/laser/pyro show. Something with more variety. They also could incorporate some daily images and video. Maybe some of those sniped pictures they take when you enter the park from the front. Kids always love to see themselves on the Big Screen(many adults too). I know they do the live camera thing already.

And I also think that the huge screen at the end of the midway is a visual obstruction. It would be nice to at least have something on the screen during the day. Perhaps they should make a huge version of the important dates sign by Dragster and hang it over the screen during the day. This could probably be done fairly easily.

I love that idea! I can see a stage in front of the laser light show screen being constructed for a live performance bigger than the Snoopy appearances that are already a part of the show. Make it a huge song and dance spectacle with fireworks and music -- something amazing, fun, and audience-interactive -- that would be a great wrap-up to an already exciting day. The show needs to be fun for both adults and kids (including adults without children).

And get rid of the recycled nonsensical cartoony laser images. They're so pointless and cheesy, and really a bit outdated and boring.
