Is The Gatekeeper supposed to be a bird?

Sort of on subject, has anyone spotted the former Iron Dragon griffon? I was expecting it to make a return appearance somewhere.

It was not out this weekend, but I heard Jason Hammond talking about it being brought out in the future. Who knows...
