Is the BoardWalk Project Dead?

When I was last up to cedarpoint,I talked with alot people! They told that the boardwalk project was dead?I heard The flat rides,were cancelled,Has any one heard anything?

The boardwalk project was'nt ever going to happen anyways.That was a bunch of smoke..I know certain people it wasnt in the plans.

That really stinks that the boardwalk project has been scraped.  Cedar Point should use the beach and lake to its advantages.  Tearing down Oceana wouldn't cost that much, but I know if they wanted to move Disaster Transport it would cost a very large sum of money!  Maybe one day down the road Cedar Point will do something like that, but I think upper management realizes that looking at the sunset isn't as awesome as riding Millenium Force or some other hyper intensive ride.  I think the park would rather put there money in something more adrenaline rushing.  I just never see anyone running or lining up for Disaster Transport, but rather going to Millenium Force, Mantis, Power Tower, or Raptor! 
Something had to exist for it to be scrapped... but I know how you feel! I was hoping for a boardwalk too... I guess we'll see what happens in the future!

Who were these people you talked to? Were they pushing a Dippin' Dots cart by any chance? Really people, let's wait and hear what CP has in store for next year before we start hammering plans down. Why would CP move the Big Wheel over by the beach if there wasn't anything that was going to happen in this area.

It would appear that the boardwalk project was not neccessarily going to be a boardwalk anyway - just general development in the Oceana area. Then again, it should have been here for the 2001 season anyways. Maybe next year...

How many YEARS are you guys going to talk about this Boardwalk thing? I am sick of hearing about it. I think it was just a BIG JOKE someone started 3 years ago and people can't let it go.
That's it lake it was a rumor an still is, It's false.

Actually.. no.. some of us.. (can't speak for anyone else but I KNOW of some other people who have) have seen the drawings and plans for some work along the beach..

Sorry, CedarPoint!, but I have to go with Jeff and Rob on this one. While it may or may not be true that you know people who work there...I am not convinced that the boardwalk project was just a big joke/ rumor. I think it will happen..becuase I have faith :)

After reading those articles in the above post I realize that there is a strong likelyhood of the project happening. I beleive Jeff when he says in those articles to keep an eye out and that it's been rumored by officials, but not all of those reports from 1999 and 2000 were totally correct...

I'll just go with the "ye of little faith" thing and have some. I'll just wait and see what happens, hoping for either a boardwalk or a big coaster (ta2k?)...
