Is the Boardwalk Project Officially Dead?

I wonder how well the Boardwalk theme would fit in now that the new ride is Wicked Twister?  It wouldn't be the best backdrop for an old fashined Boardwalk experience.  Any thoughts?

You need to get off this boardwalk thing. Boardwalk to me means water front development, and that's what they're doing.

Jeff,

I don't mean the physical structure of a boardwalk either.  What I am getting it is this would have been an ideal place for a true boardwalk experience.  A flashback, if you will, that many other parks have had success with (ala Kennywood).

I think it was a great idea and I just wonder if it would still fit with this interesting looking ride as the backdrop.

What Boardwalk Project??

It was a rumor all along, it never was going to happen!

It was an idea.  I didn't say it was the park's idea or my idea...it was just an idea and in my opinion a nice idea at that.  Geez.
Actually Jeff, when you first hinted at a boardwalk you did say the actual structure of a boardwalk. This would include some flat rides, shops, and maybe some small coasters.(Or this is what you said at least)
-----------------
MF Laps: 2
Raptor Laps: 3
Magnum Laps: 2
Power Tower Launches: 1
Power Tower Drops: 1
That would allow more footprint room, getting the flatrides out to the beach on the boardwalk.

"Hello, my name is *TIMMY!!*" [Ah LIBALOU LIBALOU TIMMAH!!!]
Laugh ye not too hard at my piddly stats. MF: 3; Magnum: 5; Raptor: 2 But the Iron Dragon is still my baby!
If understand that knowing is half the battle, but what's the other half, chicken
I think there will be a boardwalk project, I'd say by 2008 the area near the beach will be booming....By then I hope they will build both a wild mouse and woodie right on the beach....That would be nice!
call them Sand Shrew and Beach Boomer

I think Wicked Twister will add a very nice scenery perspective and bring a lot of people back to the beach. I mean, can you imagine as the sun sets to see a WT train blasting up the tower?Thats a good beach improvement to me.

You seem to be overlooking the fact that an Intamin Impulse does have a very small footprint. Would've been cool if they threaded one of the DT exterior tunnels, though.
Well, KBF's boardwalk has Hammerhead, Surpreme Scream, Perilous Plunge, Wipeout, that new ride i want them 2 put in, Boomerang, and spinning rides- none of which you would see in an old boardwalk! And Ricochet, although names after an old ride, is part of an expansion at some park (Dominion?), and they didn't have steel wild mice then ,either!

You know the perfect idea for the boardwalk?  Since the mood is going to be historic, Blue Streak could be relocated.  People in a classic mood will still be able to enjoy the ride as always and the footprint within the park would allow for something. . . else.

That is an interesting idea but I kind of like seeing the Blue Streak as you are crossing the causeway.  Not too mention the effort to dismantle and rebuild a wooden coaster in the same park.

I wonder if that has been done before?

And that would make money how?

Think not in one direction but two in the stance that it won't raise money, but also won't cost all that much to improve either.  It's a wise use of assets.  A lot of the front portion of the park displays a certain feel.  The boarwalk will have its own kind of mood as will each of the different locales in the park.  If the idea is to present something historic as you put it Jeff, moving the Blue Streak would be an excellent way to indicate that upholding of tradition and honoring the past.

Now I may be completely off my keel on this and it may turn out to be probably the dumbest idea that anyone's ever hear.  But it's something to think about nonetheless.

I doubt anyone at the park spends much time thinking about wasting money.
