Is the arcade at Cedar Point worth it?

Do the arcade games there give out tickets for prizes? Is the arcade big?

Yes. Yes.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Always a tradition to play a few rounds of 25 cent Skee ball when I visit.

Like Pete said yes on both questions. Definitely worth checking out.

I think the arcade is a hidden gem. I always have a good time in there. And its a great place during a cedar point rain.

Oh, HECK yes. Tons of unique ticket machines in there, and a trove of vintage cabinets toward the back if you're into retro gaming. Every year, I wind up feeding a ridiculous amount of quarters to the Elvis Live! quarter pusher game and netting myself enough tickets for at least one nice thing- usually a mug, but one year I got enough to get myself a mini pop tart maker (that I never use. Poor neglected thing.)

Air hockey is my family's tradition. I kick their butts in that most of the time, haha. But the arcade is really fun and it is nice to get out of the sun for a while. We have saved up tickets since 2009 but unfortunately we lost them. Probably somewhere in a black hole closet. It is worth saving your tickets up over the years so you can get the good prizes like electronics.

The only thing I wish they would add as a prize is food such as candy or other snacks.

I'm glad Cedar Point still uses coins instead of the game card that you find at some arcades.

Yes. Carrying around a butt load of quarters is awesome.

Did any Cedar Fair parks other than King's Island use the card last year?

The arcade is ok for what it is. The back half of the arcade could use serious help though. Most games back there either do not work or the screens are so faded that you cannot see what is going on. While it is nice to see a lot of older machines, the maintenance just isn't up to par at all.

The arcade is worth it if you like redemption games, but if arcade games are your thing, there are better choices, like Kalahari's Big Game Room.

I agree with SuperS0nicSam. I really appreciate the fact that they have kept all of the old games in the back of arcade. However, I do not understand why they even have power running to most of them since they don't work, or in some cases, don't even accept quarters.

For example, my favorite arcade game of all time is the 1981 Sega Turbo sit-down racing game, which is in the back of the Coliseum. I've had a tradition for the last 20 years or so to play a few games on it, but for the last 4 years, the coin slots have been completely jammed into the machine to the point where you can't even insert a quarter.

At that point, why do they even bother wasting the power running to it? It's my understanding that a 3rd party company services the machines, but I would think that during coin retrievals (not sure how often that happens) someone would have noticed that A) this machine doesn't have any coins in it, and B) the coin slots are smashed into the machine and maybe if we take the time to fix the slots then we could make at least a little money. Now that I think of it, during my final trip last summer I noticed that the entire dashboard and steering wheel were ripped off and dangling from the machine...but there it sat, still powered on.

If all the players are ready...at the sound of the bell, ROLL EM!

I like the quarters. You don't have to plan ahead how much you want to spend or load you just give your kid a buck or a quarter or two and send them on their way. If your feet ares till tired and your but is really digging the bench it's sitting on you hand them a few more when they come back or you cut them off and leave. Of course I'm one of those weirdos that still uses cash and doesn't even have a debit card.

Is there any pinball?

RMC streak or bust!

Lots.

If they haven't already they need to ensure the atm / debit coin machines work in the arcade. The machines were powered up going through the transaction process normally it seemed but then timed out. Connection issue possibly?

Was there last year during a rather nasty storm, the arcade was packed and I guessing that they missed out on a thousand or so dollars worth of games easily over the 30 mins or so we as we waited out the storm.

I was trying to spend $40 just for my kids. They either couldn't do it at the counter or the workers didn't care to at the moment.

We always spend time in there, generally on the classic games in the back, although I've seen recently they haven't kept them up as well as I'd like.
