Is it just me?

I was lucky enough to ride TTD once in 2003 inbetween breakdowns. Only after I went this year and saw it never really open for an entire day, I realized how lucky I was to get that ride in last year. Anyway, back to what this thread is about, is it just me or does TTD look like it should be more fun than it really is? I rode it and the launch was ridiculous and the rest of it went by so fast I couldn't tell you anything about it. My brother and I were excited right up until we got to the unloading platform, but then that was it. Not nearly the reaction we STILL get from MF and Magnum. When I watch people riding it, it just seems like I blinked at wrong time or somethin because it looks like it should've been way more fun than I remember it being. Anyone agree (keeping in mind that I have ONE ride and not 1000)?

I have been on Dragster countless times and I still have a blast and, not to mention, one hell of a thrill, each and every time I ride it. Go back and ride it again sometime...I think you'll change your mind ;)

4 times, so far, for me. It blows me away each and every time.

I like MF better, though.

MF is a better overall ride but that speed of TTD cant be beat. Cant wait to ride in two weeks. When I get off I keep wanting more bcuz it is so short but so good. *** Edited 7/21/2004 2:07:54 AM UTC by FeelTheForceMF***

I find that if I ride it twice in the same day, the second day is really not as interesting.

The more times I ride TTD the more I begin to like MF more. TTD seems to lose its thrill rather quickly in my opinion. MF is a better ride. In my book the rides at Cedar Point are ranked as follows:

1.) MF, Magnum, Raptor (All tied for 1st)
2.) TTD
3.) WT, Mantis

Also I have been on 76 different coasters in my life and the top 10 are as follows:

1.) MF, Magnum, Raptor
2.) TTD, Storm Runner
3.) Superman: Ultimate Flight
4.) Lightning Racer, Shivering Timbers
5.) Talon
6.) Steel Force
7.) Gwazi
8.) Kumba
9.) Batman & Robin: Chiller Side
10.) Nitro

Although some of these rides I have only been on a few times so if I rode them more they would probably change! (Just like TDD does.) *** Edited 7/21/2004 4:19:39 AM UTC by Coaster Freak***

278 coasters and still counting!

I was pretty pumped after I rode it for the first time. I still get a few butterflies in my stomach before the launch, but I am not nearly as "wowed" by it anymore.

Of course, after my Cedar Point trip, I headed back to Great America and rode V2. Man did that launch seem ever so wimpy.....

AKA Cobraroller on Cbuzz

The first time I rode it it was the best time of my life. But the second time was not nearly as fun as the first. So always make your first ride worth-while. But I still think it is the best ride in the park and I havent gotten bored of it and ive ridden it 17 times.
I think of TTD how I think of Demon Drop. I wouldn't ride either multiple times in one day and if I went to the park and didn't get on it all day I wouldn't lose any sleep.

It is a great experience, no doubt about it. But, it is not a great rollercoaster.

Well just look at the reactions of those unloading while you are waiting in line. The employee will ask "how was that record breaking ride!?" and everyone will just kinda sit there and say nothing. I know when I ride I dont cheer or clap or anything for it. Now head over to MF and see what people do when asked the same question and the whole train goes crazy every single time.
the trains are usually going crazy...
We've been on TTD many many times the thrill is still there, and it's still a crazy ride every time, but i would have to say MF is still the best.
I agree with "arms". TTD is intense for a short period of time and MF is intense for a longer period of time. I enjoy both, but MF delivers a better time---IMO.

As for the train "not reacting" to the ride op on the platform, you're right. But watch the reaction of people as the train comes into the brakes and is advanced to the unload station. They are laughing, wiping tears from their eyes, high fiving, and shouting. It's a great ride.

But yeah, in my book MF delivers over TTD for it's overall ride experience and SUSTAINED thrill and speed...

ROUNDABOUND.

Everytime I ride TTD i find something else that completely sends an adrenaline rush throughout me. TTD is one huge thrill, while MF is a series of thrills that add up to dragsters level.

The 4 times I've been on the ride I'm speechless at the end. You've been through so much in 17 secs that it takes a while for my mind to catch up. TTD and WT are my favorite. I like the fact that they start off very quickly.

The vertical, 270 degree spiral on the way down is just exhilerating. The view from 420 feet in the air is also amazing. And after riding TTD, a few days later I rode Flight of Fear at PKI. The 54mph launch seems like nothing at all.
