I like the way Disney does their ride reservation system. I've not been to a Six Flags since the pre-Flash pass days, but if their operations are still as bad now as they were then, it's definitely a disadvantage to the people standing in line. I've heard some stories of train after train being sent out half full of Flash pass users causing the regular lines to drag. Of course, I've heard other stories completely contradicting that. I'll be at Great Adventure in August, so I guess I'll find out.

My own take on this is I'm glad CP doesn't have a flash pass system. After having gone to Six Flags for years before we actually took a trip to CP, it's apples to oranges. CP knows how to run a park. Sh... Flags only does the Flash Pass because it's an easy way to rape you out of more money. They intentionally do not run their rides at capacity creating longer lines forcing you in a very passive aggressive manner to get a flash pass. It was expensive to start with but when I looked for the heck of it a month or so ago, they have 3 levels now..the top level is outrageously expensive and allows you to re-ride once. If a ride like Millennium Force or Maverick were at a SF park, you can almost guarantee the queue for either would be out into the parking lot...with or without a flash pass. CP seems to care about the guests and give you a great time. SF is only interested in how much money they can gouge. The difference in the operations between both parks are painfully obvious.

And like someone else pointed out, Dragster and Maverick are the only ones with really long wait times. I don't mind waiting because the lines aren't that unbearable and CP is run efficiently.

Well, Six Flags gouges you with operations.

Cedar Point gouges you with everything but operations.

...and sometimes they gouge you with little bits of metal from their launched Intamins. But that's something completely different. ;)

FastPass at Disney rules, but it rules because on any given day they've got an insane number of people in their parks. Let's be honest here, most of the time, there are only two rides at Cedar Point that have uncomfortably long lines: Dragster and Maverick. Millennium Force and Raptor at times, but it's not consistent. For the most part, even on a busy day, you can enjoy a day at CP by simply not getting into long lines and going at a different time. For all of the ridiculous amount of building at that park, the benefit is that its aggregate capacity is enormous.

I realize that there are a few days a year where it'd be nice to have, but I don't think the park is negatively impacted by not having it.
