I hear alot of people complaining about Soak City is this true?
Is this a statement or question?
I guess its been a few months so a topic like this is due. Soak City does just fine with attendance, Could it use some more slides, sure from an enthusiast perspective. Could it use some more paint and bushes, sure why not. Do they need an entirely new water park, no.
I haven't heard any complaints. I been there a few times this year, and I've been to Wildwater Kingdom too. Both are nice parks, both are clean parks. Soak City was built in the early days of water parks and is pretty much a giant concrete area with pools and slides. Wildwater Kingdom is much newer and has more theming and character. I like both parks for different reasons.
I'd like to see Soak City make better use of some of that concrete. The area between Adventure Cove and the wave pool could use more tables. They need some seating near the slides too. One change they could make is to add the automated locker system they have at WWK. That would eliminate the sometimes long wait to rent a locker. I personally don't use the lockers there, but that would be a good improvement. The changing room building at SC might be a candidate for some updating too.
If Soak City was a standalone waterpark, it probably wouldn't be doing as good as it is. It draws alot of its crowd from Cedar Pointgoers. Ohio can have some pretty hot summer days too, and there isn't another makor waterpark anywhere close, at least not that i know of, except for Kings Island's waterpark. They could use some sprucing up and maybe another attraction, but I doubt its very high on their list of priorities
Kalahari is close and for an indoor water park, it sure is better than Soak City.
Soak City isn't terrible, but it is terribly out of date. I've been quite a few times this year and I still had a lot of fun. It just needs to be updated, or at least a fresh coat of paint until something better comes a long.
Kings Islands water park is much better from a variety/new attraction standpoint, yet Soak City still has some advantages.
They aren't going to spend a dime on Soak City beyond normal maintenance unless attendance declines. Seeing as how they have a built-in audience from the resorts, the odds are not high.

And being that the resorts are sitting half empty right now, I would not look for a large soak city expansion anytime soon.
I could maybe see them adding a new slide or a pro slide bowl, but not any kind of large addition.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I'm suprised the whole "Well once they close Wildwater Kingdom" thing hasn't been brought up yet.
But anyways... Soak City is nothing special It's market is Resort guest and to some degree Platinum pass holders that come over from the park. And this is exactly what it succeeds at, it attracks guest that go to the park on Saturday and then spend a half day or so at Soak City on Sunday after they checkout.
