No, to me Cedar Point is not your best bet. I would take a trip to either of the Orlando parks over Cedar Point.
Depends on what you go for. Do you go to enjoy the theming while standing in line or do you go to ride the best coasters in the land?
The rides at Disney, for example, are totally different than CP. Disney concentrates on themes of rides (like the Alien one where all you do is sit there and if you dont pay attention to what's going on in their story, then the ride's worthless.)
Mine's CP, best rides I've ever rode on. I dont care for theming, I care for the freefall weightless feeling.

Yes,Disney is definitely for the "oohh-ahh" factor while looking at things while CP is for the same factor while riding things.
Just vote for Cedar Point. :)
Allow me to make an analogy...(or is it called a simile?)
WDW is kind of like a luxury car - it has lots to look out inside and out, and lots of features. That equates to the theming. It also performs well, which equates to the fact that their attractions are fun, some moreso than others. The Tower of Terror is like a Mercedes Benz S600, while the Teacups are more like a Kia Amanti.
Cedar Point is a muscle car like a '64 Ford Fairlane 427. It does not have many features (theming), but it's really friggin' fast and thrilling.
I love lamp.
That's very clever, Fordman. Then could you say something like Wildcat is like a Mazda Miata?

No...Six Flags would be a Ford (Found On Road Dead)......you'd want to match CP up with a reliable auto-maker.....like a Dodge Hemi-Cuda.

Nah I think Cedar Point would be like Honda or...okay I don't know. lol.

When I leave CP after walking for 12+ hours and riding all the rides until I get sick, I go home feeling great. Paying $45 for a ticket is very expensive but after a day of fun I feel like every cent was worth it.

Agreed with Gomez, plus going to disney is like $60 or $65 or more isn't it? Last time I went there I remember it being hugely expensive.
Universal Studios is pretty cool though. They do have a couple good rides, but again, its all about the theming. Majority of the rides there just shake you side to side while you watch something. Most of the time the theming is better than the ride itself.
With CP, even though I'm so tired from riding all day, I always wanna go back the next day and can't wait until I get the opportunity to go back.

I guess this depends on what their question is. I didn't do it, because I don't feel like registering, but if the question is referencing "Theme Parks" I think Universal or Disney win easily because CP SUCKS at theming (exhibit A: Dispatch Master Transport.....Exhibit B: Top Thrill Dragster). If it refers to "Amusement" I think the Point is on top, there really is no better Amusement Park on the planet.

I've given it some thought...
Blue Streak- '93 Ford Probe- old but fun
Raptor- BMW 530i- smooth ride and pretty fast
Disaster Transport- Hummer H2- ugly
Wicked Twister- Honda S2000- quick off the line, but runs out of steam when you hit the apex
Corkscrew- Jeep Cherokee- rides like the wheels are square
Iron Dragon- Suzuki Samurai- very tipsy
Millennium Force- Jaguar XK- one of the most graceful looking things on the planet
Mantis- Dodge Viper- loud, loud, loud
Top Thrill Dragster- It's namesake
Magnum XL-200- '57 Chevy Bel Air- the ultimate classic
Jr. Gemini- Suzuki Swift- very small
Woodstock Express- Chevy Aveo- only a little bigger than the Swift
Gemini- Ford Contour- vastly underrated
Mine Ride- Chevy Impala- average in almost every way
Mean Streak- Any full size '60s pickup- back-breaking ride
I had too much free time today.
I love lamp.
Nicely done, however I disagree with a few.
Disaster Transport doesn't deserve to be compared to a Hummer, maybe to a Geo.
Mine Ride doesn't deserve to be compared to an Impala. I drive an Impala and they are MUCH quicker than Mine Ride has ever been. Mine Ride could be compared to a Neon, nothing special.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
You know... that makes me wonder... If I lived somewhere other than Northeast Ohio, would I travel to visit the park? Hard to say. I mean that's really a hard call. Probably not every year, but perhaps every other year.

For me, that'd depend on where I lived. If I lived in the D.C. area, I'd probably make a yearly trek to Cedar Point. SFA really bites.
If I lived in Southern California, however, I might make do with Knott's and SFMM and go every other year.
I live 2 hours away and have no problem with making the trip. That does make me wonder if I would make the trip if I lived further away.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I live 10 hours away and I make the trip annually. This'll be my 3rd trip up there.
If I was there like some of you guys all the time, I'd probably be sick of it too. "Too much of a good thing could be bad" - that saying comes to mind.

Sorry, I have to give my vote to Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios Florida. The theming of the rides/park truly makes you feel like you are in another world. Their rides are all amazing, and the hotels and City Walk area are fantastic as well. Cedar Point has better rides, but Universal is in a category all it's own when it comes to the overall experience.
Cedar Point rocks my socks.
But it still rocks your socks, right? =P
I personally would go to Cedar Point over Disney any day, at my age. Younger, I would rather go to WDW, it feels like you're in a fairy tale the whole time, and Epcot is great for the little kids who like technological things.
However, now it just seems silly and pointless. When I'm at Cedar Point, one of my favorite things to do is just walk down the midway, taking it all in. The screaming, the people, the Mantis roaring, cable cars overhead, Power Tower making it's noises, it's just an incredible experience.
I also have a severe aversion to heat and sunlight, I get heat sickness and stuff easily, but that all seems to change at Cedar Point. Last time I was there, I literally stayed from 8:30 to closing (with a break for lunch) inside the park, and it was 85+ (usually 90ish) with no clouds all three days. My mom, sister and her friends probably spent less than half the time in the park that I did, but I loved every minute of it.
But then you get in the car and the adrenaline is gone and you realize how much your legs hurt ><
