Is Cedar Point Halloweekends in trouble?

"Pizza Patio by Raptor took us 30 some minutes to get a slice of pizza."

Sounds like any other day at the park.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

My therory is because of staffing, I personally drive 2 hours to get there on weekends, and some travel 4 1/2 to get there. Alot of it falls on staffing, if we were open untill midnight on Sunday, I would not be working, and the same goes with others.

If we were open that late the only thing that would be open would be Maverick, Millenium, and maybe Magnum. It is not worth keeping us open.

Plus I do beleve it is the economy too. Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Akron, And Youngstown where I live are ailing in this economy so that plays a BIG factor in determing hours and how many guests the park is gonna get. I have not seen any advertisements for Halloweekends this year down here. Over the Summer we were bumbarded by Comercials from Kennywood and Idlewild, so I think more people from Youngstown are going to Kennywood.

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!

Save The Big Dipper!

I just read that artical tht walt posted, and I have not laffed that hard in a while.

“We are putting more emphasis on customer service today than ever, for all ages."

Riiiiiiigggghhhttt!!!!

"Everyone in the park seems to know him, and he calls most of his frontline employees by their first names. One can’t get much higher in integrity than Dick Kinzel"

Duh...they have name tags on.

"In early 1971, he sent his resume to Walt Disney World, which was getting ready to open in central Florida in October of that year.
“I heard back from Walt Disney World, and when they asked me what my salary requirements were, I said $15,000 per year. They said that was too much, and I wouldn’t budge, so I stayed in Toledo,” Kinzel recalls. “Then I heard from Cedar Point and accepted the job there, for $13,000. I started as a supervisor in the food department.”

Wouldn't budge huh?

I still can't stop laffing at this.....
"But it’s not just about excellent customer service. Over the years, Kinzel has seen a need for operations to change with the times. “Technology has changed things significantly, and today’s parks are safer than they have ever been,”

Thank's for the laff's walt. I needed that today.

His "not budging" isn't that surprising. If I'm going to move across the country for a job, I'm going to be a lot less flexible on salary demands than if its for a place that'll keep me close to friends and family.

Depends on if they pay for the re-lo and whether or not you like your family. ;)
