Ironic?

While waiting in raptor queue yesterday i was listening to the speaker on the lift hill give it's little speech. After listening to it, it makes no sense. It says "For your safety keep your hands, and feet inside the car at all time. How are you supposed to keep your feet inside the car. Then it continues on and says remain seated at all time. How are you gonna stand up on raptor. Somebody explain this to me.
They use the same words for every spiel but change the Welcome to whatever beginning
it is simply saying what everyride there says its a company policy and everyone should follow it, everypark has to have safety procedures while or before the ride is goin on, jus like it says on wicked twister about sittin in the wrong direction, it is just said becuz it has to be according to cedar fair,i know they seem sensless but its cedar fair's policy

Like the Magnum lift spiel, it's pointless. They say it's there because in court they could say the rules were being played back and are therefore consistant, but even lawyers are smart enough to know you can't actually hear it on the lift.

Yeah, you can't hear it when your on the hill because of the stupid chain being as loud as it is.
You can hear it for about a second going past the speaker
In the morning, when nary a soul is in the park and the wind is blowing slightly out of the west you can hear the speaker while standing outside the employee laundromat.

Or so I've been told. I think I heard the same voice in a Charlie Brown special once. Soothing.

How can a chain be "stupid"?

Sorry i should have worded that differently, i meant to say annoying chain.
yeah that is kind of off. Ah, well I probably wouldn't have even noticed it. *** Edited 6/17/2004 11:33:06 PM UTC by /\/\idnighto/\/***
I guess it's all how you look at things. The clank of that chain makes me smile, everytime.

Even while camping in the ring closest to Soak City, a couple of years ago, I'd adjust my lawn chair to face the sound of that clanking. I could hear the clanking (seemingly regretfully) start to "skip" clanks. Then the second or two of TOTAL silence. Then the screams and roar of the train. I heard this over and over again for three days and never grew tired of it.

When I hear that sound "up close and personal" --on the ride, I'm one big smiley face, as all of those memories come flooding back.

And beside, I KNOW that I am in for a good ride, REAL soon!

Do they say please keep seated at all times on Mantis?
Well they do have a seat on it.

CP should invest in Pro-Audio gear. Them PA horn speakers are impossible to hear and/or understand with on most stations. Maybe then people can hear the entire spiel.

Indy's back and just in time.

They have that spiel because people probably would find a way to stand on the Raptor some day. Then they fall off, paralyze themselves, and sue. This is a lawsuit happy society and Cedar Point is just covering all bases.

I love lamp.

The audio in the Dragster station is the best I've heard in any attraction anywhere, and that includes Orlando. It probably has something to do with the fact that it has no walls.

Jeff, I strongly agree with you. I like them, loud and clear. Even the music is clear.

The guy that did the Raptor auto-spiel for the line creeps me out. There's just something about his voice. The stations for MF, WT, and Dragster all have very good audio equipment (the loading stations at least - I'm talking about YOU, MF unload). But when I was there on 6/15 on Wicked Twister the auto-spiel wasn't working and they had to do it "manually" and whenever they turned off their mic, a HORRIBLE sound came out of the speakers, like a tiny portion of the station music was repeating over and over very loudly. I was glad to get on the train and away from that noise!

How was that ride on Millennium Force? *woohoo* Yippy skippy...... Enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point......America's.....Rockin....Roller Coast. (said by the larger guy with glasses who likes to wear sweaters on hot days)
