Iron Dragon's *new* Autospiel?

Has anyone else noticed this? It's obviously new because the recording quality is extremely clear.

A male voice does the "welcome back iron dragon riders, how was your ride?...." spiel, and a high-pitched female voice announces how to get into the train, etc..

I thought they were doing away with autospiels until I heard it yesterday, and it took me by surprise.

anyone else?

Iron Dragon and Corkscrew are the only coasters with autospiels this year. No idea why they left it for just those two rides....

Heard about this and corkscrew before we left last week. Heard it while we were there. When I could hear it (ie the station wasn't so loud that this was actually audible) it was one of the most annoying things I've heard. One of the ops agreed with me.

Ralph - Maybe they decided that they would stick them on "only arrow rides with OTSR's"? :-D

-Josh

I thought Wildcat had it too...

Nope, WC was a manual spiel. The op was trash talking ID the whole time too. It was fun to listen to and I'm very happy that they have gone back to it.

Yea wildcat is manual. It was pretty funny, they have a cheat sheet right in front of them. One guy used it and kinda messed up, and another guy did his own thing. It was also funny to see that at the end of the ride (WC) they tease you about how abrupt the ending is.

If I'm not mistaken, the female voice on the new spiels sounds like the one who did the WWL "western voice" - still annoying, but now with 75% less fake western accent.

-Josh

And 33.33% more squeaky little girl voice thrown in!

Probably isn't enough time on ID and Corkscrew to actually do a manual speil.

I don't know man, I was thinking about that - but that new spiel is really long on ID.

I still don't understand why those rides got them.. Maybe they're the least exciting rides to work and there's really not much to spiel?

I'm confused.

-Josh

I heard the Iron Dragon spiel on Opening Day.... and I absolutely hate it!

Don't count on them not coming back to other coasters, as well. Lawyers will have their way...

I'm sure if Karrah (asst. mgr. of ride operations) knew she'd take this much crap for the Iron Dragon spiel, she'd have thought twice before she recorded it! :)

I'm wondering why they kept these two with autospiels, but I am thrilled to death to see them gone on Magnum, Dragster, MF, Power Tower, Wildcat, Maxair, etc...

Given that they were giving Mine Ride a full length spiel, height and speed included, I don't know about that.
