Iron Dragon Question!

Once, we got stuck in the middle of the second lift hill, and the other train already was sent down the first lift hill, and was on a crash course to us. In fact, the second train crempt right on behind us and stopped gently on the block brakes at the bottom of the second lift hill, then slightly tapping our train.

First of all the safety features and block system do not allow that to happen and if they failed the ride would have been shut down for a very long time and the state would have to come and inspect the ride. none of which ever happened... so this is just a complete story. Please do not come on here telling stories. It makes you look very dumb.

Excuse me, but were you there to confirm that this didn't happen? No, you were not. So how would you know if this never happened and if this was a complete story?

And why would this person join a forum of Cedar Point to create unreal stories? Especially from this member. I checked this person's profile, and this member seems to love Cedar Point a lot. So why would he of all people make up a dumb story about a ride not working?

It may sound like a dumb story, I understand that. But it's true. The same thing happened to me. It was kind of scary in a way. We all saw the other train go up and then down the first hill while we were at the top of the second hill. The train behind us that we saw stopped right behind us, then we went down the second hill. Since this happened to me during HalloWeekends, I figured that they were trying to trick us or something.

Everything acted as if it were timed, as if it was supposed to be normal. I think they probably just did something different for whatever sake, maybe the third train was having some sort of problem....? Therefore, I don't think it was a mechanical error that put us in the situation.

Am I telling stories too? Am I the liar now? Do I look dumb?

As far as the ride stopping seven times in one day, I can confirm that as well. It may not have been seven, it was probably five or six. Perhaps ThePoint'sBiggestFan and I went around the same time when it happened? Because I remember that happening not once, but during a time period at Cedar Point. I didn't think it was unusual, considering my luck.

I know that most won't believe this confirmation either, but it did happen, and I don't know what else to tell you all.

Someone is really making me think that ThePoint'sBiggestFan and The Wicked of Twisters are the same account.

Probably so, but that still does not mean it didn't happen.

And I am still waiting for my explanation too. Adidas, coolkid?.....anyone?

That story sounds believable to me. Remember what happened with Magnum? Yeah, that was up and running in no time at all and it was a little more than a "bump". Ever seen the picture of Raptor with two trains on the lift? Little bumps like what he has explained can and do happen.

you are totally right about this. Points biggest fan is saying that he was on the train. I think we would have heard about this if it were true. We heard about Magnums very minor bump. We heard about Wildcats rollback. We hear about these things when there are people on them. Points biggest fan is saying that there was a bump when he was on the ride. We would have heard about this if it were true.

Not necessarily. I mean if the trans ran into each other causing damage, then yeah I suppose we would have heard something. But if one train is on the lift and another enters the block to only nudge, and by nudge I mean "tap", why would we have heard of that? How do we know that type of situation is not common? We don't and because of that, it does not mean it didn't happen. The guy is not talking like the trains collided and mass amounts of people went to the hospital, but merely asking if what happened to him was of the norm.

I can point out at least a half dozen times when I have seen trains "bump" but will keep those to myself for obvious reasons.

I really disagree with you because it is a very big safety concerns to have rides bumping. It means a safety feature malfunctioned and that is a very hazardous to be doubt with. It could just be a little tap but a tap could become a crash very easily. The ride would be shut down at least the rest of the day to see what went wrong.

Everyone needs to calm down.

What happened here sounds like a very minor nudge. And it happened back in the woods where nobody but the people riding could see, that is probably why you all didnt here about it.

On the Wildcat, the cars run into each other all the time in the station. Not as big of a deal but still the same. And I dont think rides will be shut down for weeks just because one train touched another. It seems like that is something that can be handled by the park staff.

[url][url]It is a little strange that The Wicked of Twisters came on here to defend the OP is his very first post. I'm sure soon enough Jeff or Walt will check out the IP and lock the thread.

As far as I have ever heard/seen, ID has an exemplary safety record.

On the other hand, so did Wildcat.

The ride operator has a camera that can view the ride back in those wooden locations... they know whats going on at all times.

I know that but, everyone is like expecting this to be in the news or something.

Gee wiz, you people like to argue! No, I am not also the Wicked of Twisters. I don't even know him/her. I just wanted to know if this is normal, not that if I'm a liar, or if it is fake, or if I two accounts or whatever! Do you guys always blow everything way out of it's limits?

HER. Her first post. I am a girl, thank you.

I come here in complete peace, to join another forum. The 'Iron Dragon Question' interested me, I wanted to see what it was all about. I mean, how many questions can there possibly be about the Iron Dragon? Maybe it was a really dumb question like 'why is there a hill on that ride?' I wanted to see. So then I see that ThePoint'sBiggestFan had the same expierinces as me. Therefore, when adidas made his accusation, I got angry - because I had these expierences as well. He called me a liar too without knowing it.

Then I tried my best to set the truth straight. But clearly that isn't possible on this forum. So that's why I am leaving this forum. There wasn't anything for me here that was too exciting anyway.

So throw your parades. Party at the CP forum - The Wicked of Twisters is gone and never coming to this forum again.

I'm sure this is something you all enjoy.

The truth will soon set me free, you'll see.

I'm sorry that everyone attacked you guys. Dont leave the forum though.

Welcome to pointbuzz the wicked of twisters.

Now let's see how far you can piss. ;)

That is why I don't post on here much anymore. It seems like it is just a buch of kids in a pissing match anymore. Everybody is out to prove everybody else wrong, and who can be the biggest fanboy.

Can't we just all get along?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Thank you SO MUCH, green and crazy horse! Peace is the answer. It seems that the Wicked of Twisters is pretty steamed, but I won't leave. I came here to communicate with other big Cedar Point fans, not to start fights. So as crazy horse said... can't we just all get along? I willing to get along.

I am sorry you feel this way but what me and a few other people are trying to say is the story is really weird and to fiction like to believe. It is also really weird that this other Wicked Twisters person only posted on this topic. I find this really weird and it is getting me suspicious about you. Could you just be trying to make up a story to be more known on the forum? How you are talking and how Wicked Twisters are talking make it seem like you just made up this account and pretended that you were another person. Walt & Jeff can find out that IF this is the same person by looking at the server. I am just going to say in advance that I am really sorry if I offended you or if i am false confronting you with this "Wicked Twisters" account.

How does a thread spark a good discussion and become irritating at the same time?

1. We're fortunate to have a number of people with industry experience who add to the mix and the conversation. It's nice to understand something from someone who has been there instead of being left to guess from the outside.

2. If you post an anecdotal or personal experience, it's reasonable to expect that someone won't believe you. Perhaps if I posted this story, no one would doubt it. But I've been here since the 1950's. We love spirited conversations. If everyone agreed, it'd be boring.

3. That said, if you're going to doubt someone, do it with some level of maturity and respect. Not doing so is one of the fastest ways to find yourself without an account. Very high on the pet peeve list.

4. Stick to the topic. Don't lob accusations. Let us worry about duplicate accounts and the like. We don't need the help. We're good at catching it.

And that's the end of that. Discussion regarding the Iron Dragon topic follows this post.

Iron Dragon's blocking is a little weird because it has the station, the first lift, the brakes at the base of the second lift, the second lift, and the transfer table. So it is not unreasonable to have one train stopped on the second lift and another on the brakes at the base of the second lift. Because the first lift normally holds for the second lift to clear, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen. It is unlikely, however, that the trains would be anywhere near each other.

And they could still run with just two trains for the entire season and get away with it:)
