Hey me and my mom were talking about improvements that cp has done over the past few years, and i told her that they had painted iron dragon. She asked what the color used to be, and i had said red track and white/gray supports. She begs to differ, and says that wasn't the original colors, does anyone know if it was ever any other colors, and if so do you have pics, i want to see, thankx.

Back in the day? UHhhhhmmmm.... 2 years ago it was Red track and tan supports. It was always like that since built as far as I can remember. The year it opened I waited nearly 4 hours for it. hows about that? hehe
This is how it has always looked until recently. The grey was really faded pale green.
i worked at cp in 87 at thunder canyon, and was just looking at old pics from that summer, red track and greyish supports originally

Back in the day? Man...that is a low blow.
But, I vividly remember my first ride on the Dragon that first summer. I stood in line for what seemed like an eternity and I recall riders returning to the station overhead screaming down that is wasn't worth the wait. We thought they were just being smartalecs. How right they were.
I enjoy the Dragon for what it is but it was never worth a long wait time.

Fun fact. When people say "back in the day," that was actually a Wednesday--Dane Cook.
Iron Dragon looked a lot better before it got it's little extreme makeover. Plus the trees used to really be a big bonus. They'd make it feel like you were going a lot faster than you were.
ID was the first coaster I remember absolutely loving as a kid!
I have a question. On RCDB it says that Iron Dragon runs 3 trains. While I can recall this because I always remeber seeing 2 trains on the track and one in maintenance however how can they run three trains when there is only room for one in the ready brakes. What if something happened, did one train have to park on a lift?
